Re: 204 brass
It's not necessarily junk, just more difficult to work with and more prone to split necks than other brands in my experience.

Bow Shot, time for a road trip to East Rochester!!
Bow, I just got back from our buddies at Biekirchs and they finally have some small rifle primers in stock, the good ones CCI BR4s and they have a good supply. Time to hit the Thruway my friend!

Re: Vihtavuori N140
If you've never tried this powder do yourself a favor and pick some up. In my 700 N140 consistently shoots smaller groups that R10X or CFE223, and by a lot. For the first time ever I got a sub .200" 3 shot group at 100yards - .177 with this powder at 27.6 grains with 40 gr Vmax.

Re: 204 brass
Yeah, the hornady brass that I had was not real good, but it was from their ammo, and not boxed brass, so perhaps that was a variable?. That's an interesting observation Bow. All of my crappy Hornady brass was also from factory ammo. This will be the first time I've used their boxed brass. I wonder...

Re: 204 brass
I don't know if they changed specs. I've found that Hornady brass seems to be harder than Win or Remington and the necks tend to split much sooner than the other two.

Re: 204 brass
I got some Hornady brass from Midway last week. Not my favorite brass but I'll take what I can get.

Re: No brass anywhere !
It's a tack driver Bow. Now if only I can find enough primers to make it through the season I'll be a happy man!

Re: No brass anywhere !
Midway has Hornady 204 brass in stock. It's my least favorite but I ordered 100 anyway. I'm kind of stuck until my engineering student son builds me an annealing turntable. I'm starting to get vertical stringing using my old brass, which I was told is a sign that it needs to be either annealed or to...

20 cal bullet pullers
Does anyone know of a good bullet puller that will work with 20 caliber rounds? Everyone I've looked at online is for 22 cal and above. Like a bonehead I loaded about 100 rounds of necksized brass fireformed in my old barrel and it will not fit in the new barrel.

Re: 20 cal decapper?
+ 1 on the Lee collet neck sizing die. It does a great job and comes with a very precise bullet seating die, much more consistant than the RCBS one I used to use.

Great shooting and video. You can see the shock wave of the last bullet as it goes through the heat distortions.

Burn rate list
I have checked out several powder burn rate charts, most put out by manufacturers, and there doesn't seem to be much consistancy between them. On one chart a certain powder will be listed a fair amount faster than another, on a different chart their positions are reversed. Any opinions on who puts o...

lol - All of it should be fired, and NEVER reloaded just scrapped.RAMOS wrote:Tons of "Brass" out there. Unfortunately, the majority of it is in Washington DC and of very low quality. Very little of it has ever been fired, although almost all of it SHOULD be!!!

Re: No brass anywhere !
I found one bag of Win brass at my local supplier back in December. I haven't used it yet but I do take it out and look at it sometimes.
