Re: Your Best/Favorite Deer Hunting Rifles?

Well, I grew up in the backwoods of Oregon and I don't think I ever killed a deer with anything other than a Winchester 30-30. I still have that old girl that I grew up with and I'll never send her away. I just recently bought another very sweet handling .30 caliber that in some ways reminds me of h...

Re: How much do you pay?

My FFL holder is an 85 year old gentleman that lives down the road from me. He and his wife are wonderful people that take care of me and do my xfers. He charges a flat $25. He does almost enough transfers each year to pay for the license. He isn't making any money off it. This year (2011) he hasn't...

The Thunder Beast cans are fantastic.

That 6.5DI sounds interesting to me on DTech's website.

Re: Scope mount for my AR(s)

I picked up the PEPR (non-QD) today for my new AR. Pretty nice mount. Was a little sad to see it is made in China instead of here in the US. Burris is up the road from me here in Colorado. Wasn't aware, or at least I didn't remember, it isn't made in the US. Still, I am happy with the mount for $79.

Re: .204 and hogs?

I'm sorry, dont think I'd trade Colorado for Georgia! I was forced into it, trust me. I wouldn't have ever thought I would move to Georgia. I am 100% happy with living in Colorado. My wife decided to apply for a contract job with the Army... and then got hired. One thing I learned about my time in ...

Re: .204 and hogs?

I know a 204 will kill a hog... below is a video link where I killed a hog with a pellet rifle... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RfMpfc4EFVo Cool video. Sure knocked em dead! I just found out that I am moving to Georgia at the end of the year. I decided to treat myself to an AR for hog hunting. Pic...

Re: cracked case mouths

Yeah, it is all from the same lot of boxed brass. I have to say, it looks MUCH nicer than all my Winchester brass that I have for other calibers. Time will tell on it's performance, but all the current reports from other Creedmoor shooters is that it is good brass and they are getting good life out ...

Re: cracked case mouths

On the flip side I am loading for a 6.5 Creedmoor which is a Hornady cartridge and Hornady is the only current manufacturer of brass for it. I've have 300 rounds of brass for it and it is fantastic quality. Virtually no prep work required and very uniform.

Re: Sierra Blitzking Questions

The ONLY thing you can buy directly from Sierra at their factory is seconds (factory rejects). Generally speaking the ballistic tip bullets from them should be avoided. A lot of those get rejected due to big flaws with the plastic tip. There is a good percentage of them that are perfect though. The ...

Re: Sierra Blitzking Questions

What Ryutzy said. Sierra is definitely the only manufacture making the Sierra Blitz King. Other manufactures load Sierra bullets it their ammo though. Hey GTO Hunter, you know Sierra is in your home state eh? They are in Sedalia and you can take tours of their operations. I went there a little over ...

Re: Oh Come On!

You've got to watch Natchez and their shady pricing/sales. Look at their ChargeMaster 1500, they have it stated as a $470 "regular" price and $300 as their "Sale" price. You can buy it at Midway or Midsouth everyday for less than their "sale" price.
