Re: Some smut!
With all due respect to you Bow Shot, I have to disagree. This particular forum seems like a family. More so than any other forum I am on. Maybe I am misunderstanding your post and your meaning of 'smut'.

Re: Is there such a thing?
You could have a 102 hole reloading tray if my father inlaw made one for you :D http://i1235.photobucket.com/albums/ff422/DontwantaUsername/reloadingtray.jpg Reckon he used about a 3/8" drill bit and went about 1/2" deep Your father in law is a holy man. ;) That is a lot of drilling!

Re: Scales...Whats are we using?
Haha, I have one of those little MTM scales too. That thing isn't accurate enough to measure out flour for a pie. I got it for free and don't know why I still have it. LOL yep. Mine does not measure 24.7 . Skpis it all together, will do all other decimal places, just not .7 Yep, mine does that same...

Re: HSM 40gr Match Varmint Boat Tail Berger Load
Trent, there could be a world of difference, from looking like H322 and actually being H322. Just not worth the risk of not knowing positively. However that is your choice. As for me, I want to know without a doubt, will follow the mauals and not take a chance of ruining a weapon or my health and w...

Re: HSM 40gr Match Varmint Boat Tail Berger Load
You wouldn't be "guessing" at anything. You open up a case and look at the powder... Looks like H322... Go to the manual and load as per the manual. H322 is a listed powder for the .204R. I fail to see how there is any risk in that process. As long as he works up his loads as per "nor...

Re: HSM 40gr Match Varmint Boat Tail Berger Load
Just as a follow up if anyone is interested. I took apart 3 loaded rounds and weighted the powders, 26.75 is the average. I also looked at the powder under 10x jewelers loop. It is a homogeneous extruded powder that looks exactly like H322 (color, length, diameter). I'm going to start off with it at ...

Re: Seating Flat Based Bullets
VLD chamfer! You'll be very glad you did! Not perfect, but waaay better than standard chamfer.. and its a very cheap solution. Ok, going to borrow one from a fellow reloader and prep the remaining 150 cases and give it a try. If this cures my loading it's going on the Christmas list. :) Careful not...

Re: The .204 Ruger in competition
I was glad to see this thread resurrected....Since the first post, I've moved and am now a member of the St Louis Benchrest Club and I've called one of the coordinators at Marion County and found out that the Varmint Matches are open to the public... I'm going to see if maybe I can find one or two ...

Re: Sonic Cleaner vgs Tumbler
I will say that I only clean my .204 brass in the ultra sonic cleaner. All my other larger calibers go throu the tumbler with walnut shell media. I do this because the neck size on the .204 and small case size makes it difficult for the media to get in there and move around, and it makes it a pain i...

Re: Sonic Cleaner vgs Tumbler
WJ, we all have varying levels of wants and needs in brass prep. A lot of us put in a lot of time preparing brass before ever firing a shot. All I can say is that with my .204R brass there is a VAST difference between the performance of a vibratory cleaner and my ultra sonic cleaner. Also, the time ...

Re: Seating Flat Based Bullets
One thing I can add is that I use a VLD case mouth chamfer on all my cases regardless of what bullets I am using. All my bullets start into the case mouth easily and smoothly.

Re: Sonic Cleaner vgs Tumbler
I started using sonic cleaner for my .204 brass mostly because of the small neck on the cases. The walnut media does not move into the cases very freely and then once it is in there it gets so packed that the media does a poor job of cleaning the inside of the case. The first time I put 50 of my .20...
