I'll throw in a set of RCBS full length dies as well.
(That's just carbon around the bottom... they are nice and shiny)

lol. I didn't even notice the accent the first time i watched it. They had to have been feeding the yotes up there. For that, they deserve to get bit. lol. Curious what he'll do next time when there are 5 or 6 of them all trying to eat his butt. lol. Chris Or what the coyote will do when it is a sm...

Nice post.
That yote was very silverish. Neat looking pelt for sure.

Re: Favorite Loads
Trent, I have found Varget to be very accurate in my rifle, but somewhat lacking in velocity, usually about 200fps slower than most other powders used with 204 Ruger. Of course that might still be more than enough for what you need. If I can stay around 3800-4000 fps with 32 grainers I'll be happy....

Re: 204 ruger accuracy and penetration tests
That is interesting. I may have to give them a try.louie the fly wrote:thanks mate...the twist is 1 in 12....which is fairly standard I think. The 40 gr VMAX's don't shoot at all in my rifle, but the 45's seem to shoot quite well. can't complain at all.

Re: 204 ruger accuracy and penetration tests
Nice second post! Thank you for all the photos and testing. What is the twist rate in the Tikka's?
That last photo with the mushroomed 45 grainers is a neat one.

Re: Favorite Loads
No problem Carlos. I'm still playing with powder as well. H335, H322 and RL-10x. I am considering going to Varget though since that is what I use in a couple other calibers and it works well with Colorado's rapid temperature changes. I shoot pDogs up on the Pawnee Grasslands, but that season ends in...

Re: New Toy
Yes, but the discharge chute is 1/2" from the table. Kind of hard to get a bottle under there.
If you set it up on your table so that the chute overhangs the table then you never have to pick it up.
Unless you know a trick that I don't.

Remington 700 SPS Varmint .22-250 SPF
Rifle has had 32 rounds sent down the tube and has since been resting in the safe. I have another .22-250 (700 Varmint Special from the 80's) that I shoot. This one gets no freedom and I've decided to let it go. The photos speak for themselves as far as the condition goes. Has the X-mark Pro trigger...

Re: New Toy
You'll probably end up shifting it over to the right edge of your bench. Makes emptying the powder back into the containers much easier if you don't have to pick the whole unit up to dump it. That is what I found anyway.

Re: New Toy
Nice. I got my RCBS ChargeMaster dispenser on Thursday. I am already out of ammo to load. These things aren't a necessity, but they sure make reloading fun again. I weigh every charge (competition and varmints) when loading for rifle so this is going to make life easy. Also, it makes loading powder ...
