Re: Did I do that?

There are several options out there that fall into the "flush cup" category. This company is highly regarded. http://www.grovtec.com/products_swivel_pairs.php They have thread in cups, and glue in. http://www.grovtec.com/images/products/large/GTSW-295.jpg http://www.grovtec.com/images/prod...

Re: Low Recoil & Big Distance...?

You've got nothing to be sorry about man! Run whatcha brung man! We all have our price points and priorities. You've got yours right on point. I wish I lived back in Oregon so that I could shoot with my dad. Although it's tough to get him to shoot anything other than a thirty-thirty. :D I've also ne...

Re: Low Recoil & Big Distance...?

Rick, while I respect your wealth of knowledge I have to disagree with you to some degree on this one. Lots and lots of people shoot out to 1,000 yards with scopes that are not in the NF, S&B and USO category. Heck, black powder guys still do it with peeps. While I do agree that BSA and Barska m...

Re: Remington 700 VTR Review

The barrels on these stocks have a pressure pad pushing up on the barrel. They are not free floated... not even close. I removed the pressure pad on mine (.204 R700 SPS... same stock) and glass bedded it. I feel that it has helped.

I like your photo with the rifle on the horizon. :wtg:

Re: reloading rooms/benches

That is my 7-08 silhouette rifle. I debated mounting my .204 in the stock but decided against it. The wood is too pretty for a field gun. My 7-08 lives it's life on the firing line or in a gun rack waiting to be shot so the stock can be handled with care. I can't wait to get some finish on it. In th...

Re: reloading rooms/benches

My reloading bench is a heavy desk about 3' x 6'. Screwed it to the wall with L-brackets. Very solid. I probably need to clean it off before taking photos. Here it is doing double duty as a stock building bench as well. I've been carving on that stick of wood for a couple months now. At least I vacu...

Re: Low Recoil & Big Distance...?

I never said faster = better , and you'll probably never see me say that. :? More accurate = better. The 7mm-08, in my opinion , is a better cartridge than the .308. Yeah, the .308 can shoot a 200 grain pill, but the 200gr bullet is generally used in the bigger cases (30-06, .300 win mag... etc). Th...

Re: Low Recoil & Big Distance...?

The 7mm-08 is another one to consider. It is ever popular amongst us silhouette competitors. Just like the 6.5mm-08 it uses the .308 parent case. Flatter shooting and less recoil than the .308. Brass is easy to obtain. Either buy it ready to go, or neckdown/resize .308 brass. There are far better ca...

Re: 204 Ultralight - SPF

I've sold several long guns and never had to ship FFL to FFL. In fact, I just sold this to a fella in Montana and his FFL holder only requested I put a copy of my Drivers License in the box with the gun. Same thing my FFL holder here requests. Is Fed Ex cheaper than UPS or about the same? It is gen...

Re: 204 Ultralight

Don't know about ID. but when I had my FFL, the firearm had to be shipped by an FFL holder and received by an FFL holder. Check into this, and maybe you can still make your deal with the Idaho person that wants your rifle. Also, the only way to ship firearms is thru UPS. USPS will not ship firearms...
