Re: exploding targets

If you are in the Southwest then there should be lots of citrus trees around. Oranges and grapefruits make good targets especially if they are on the southside of ripe!

Re: I've yet to meet a....

This is possibly my favorite knife. I almost always have it in my pocket. It essentially never gets dull. It is tiny and thin! Cost a whopping $9.99. Only "nice" knife I have is a Puma Hunter. I am one of the rare gun guys that can't get myself to spend a lot of money on collecting knives....

Re: Favorite Loads

That was 39gr SBK on top of 26.4gr of 10x. So that is a little hotter than what you are loading.

Re: head space

Was he asking how much headspace, or was he asking how much throat? The .204R factory barrels generally have a very long throat. Sometimes so long that in some rifles a bullet would fall out of the case before it could be seated out far enough to touch the lands. Headspace isn't generally something ...

Re: Skippy Flies Again on the 20 Cal Express (Part II)

Hey Rick and others, what is your technique for getting the action shots of the projectile hitting the target, i.e. "The Matter Splatter"? Are you using a device to release the shutter as you pull the trigger, or just using an assistant? I ask because I shoot a Nikon DSLR with a 200mm len...

Re: Skippy and the handcart company

That is a fantastic outing. Looks like that portable table is working out very well! It truly is portable. I may need to check into one. Would be easy to camouflage it with some ghilly type material as well. The pdogs out here can see a guy coming from a long ways off and they hit the holes. They en...

Re: Annealing question

Brass is an interesting metal. You can anneal it with heat, but the only way to harden it is through "work hardening" which is what happens when we shoot and resize the brass. Dipping the cases in water is unnecessary as far as the process of annealing goes. Generally people use the water ...

Re: leupold sushade options??

Here is an image of the adapter by itself to give you a better idea. Male threads are the new size to screw into the newer breed of Leupolds, and the female threads are the old standard to fit the old size sunshades that are the same diameter of the scope. I hate that Leupold couldn't do this on the...

Re: New bench

That is a really interesting portable bench. I've not seen that one. Definitely report back on it with a review. I do a lot of hike in pdog shooting and just have to shoot off bipods. Problem is that out here in the prairie of CO we have an awful lot of ground cactus and I look like a pincushion by ...

Re: New and frustrated

All my studies into reloading for one particular weapon, all my confidence built up with that one gun so I could confidently take pretty difficult shots is gone. He didn't steal a gun. He stole a year of effort, learning, practice and confidence as well as my first quality rifle that my dad and I s...

Re: New and frustrated

Just my opinion, but if you don't have confidence in one of your components then load testing is not going to prove anything. If there is one brand of brass that consistently gets a thumbs down around here it is the Hornady stuff. Get yourself some Win or Rem brass and start over. Just my thoughts.
