Re: Squirrels w/Ruger 10/22; CCI Segmented HP
CCI Mini-Mag HP has long been my favorite .22LR round but I’ve recently switched to CCI Velocitor for putting a real hurting on critters destined for the buzzards.

Re: Bedding 10/22 and seeking advice
Cool 10/22's there RIO, did that Douglas begin as a blank and then finished by Clark? If I keep up this nonsense which appears likely, I’m leaning towards a Douglas XX finished and threaded by CPC to a Kidd Supergrade for the next one. There’s plenty room for improvement in all my stocks but if they...

Re: Bedding 10/22 and seeking advice
Cranked 20 rounds through the 17” GM Heavy Taper in the top photo of CCI Mini-Mag HP seasoning and dialing in the Vari-V III 2.5-8x33 then at 50 yards got 5/8” for 9 of 10 and with the one Mini-Mag flyer blowing it for 1-1/4”. Shot 20 or maybe it was 30 CCI SV through the 16.5” Kidd in the other pho...

Re: Bedding 10/22 and seeking advice
I got it bad and don’t know how to stop, and don’t care. Here’s where these are at now, ready for the fine tuning to include the bedding I asked about in the beginning. I’ll see how they do “as is” and if worthy of showing off I’ll be back soon with all the details. http://i1118.photobucket.com/albu...

Re: Ruger 77/17 Accuracy fix
The 10/22 is a relatively cheap gun evidently designed for folks happy so long as it goes bang. For the money, I was expecting much more from that 77/22 and it soon had to go, maybe too soon. I have two 10/22 projects going on now and when done the only parts still Ruger will have been modified. Rug...

Re: Nikon Monarch scopes
When it came in I too was disappointed with my 4-16x50SF Monarch, purchased after reading many glowing reviews. It still lives here but is lookin a bit awkward on a 10/22. Another vote for the Vortex Viper, but so far the Leupold are still the overall best of any I have tried in the mid to ‘uppity’ ...

Re: Ruger 77/17 Accuracy fix
I bought a beautiful 77/22 in .22 Mag not long after they first came out. It wasn’t nearly as bad as those targets but after two different cheap lookin scratchy action Marlins put it to shame I soon sold it. The new owner says that after putting many more rounds through it, it finally started shooti...

Re: Bedding 10/22 and seeking advice
I’m still sorting thru what I see on RFC and other sources all wanting to help empty my wallet. If/when the fever gets really serious; Connecticut Precision Chambering is apparently the place to go for the cure.

Bedding 10/22 and seeking advice
This one is the Compact still with factory 16.5” blued skinny barrel in an otherwise plain but pretty shorter pull Walnut stock with no barrel band. It tends to vertical string though not quite as bad as the other 2 or 3 standard carbines I’ve owned in the past, but the trigger on this one was by fa...

Hi Brad. Before you dump that Encore, go to www.bellmtcs.com and do a little more homework. Those things can be encouraged to shoot very well.

I never totally trust the drop data as listed on ammo boxes. My real world results too often differ.

Re: BATF finally did something rite…
Also for the record, if your T/C frame was bought as a carbine, it’s still technically a no-no to configure it as a handgun. The change applies only to going rifle (and back) with your handgun frames. I only hope someone is watching out for those Agents that spoke out against this nonsense. Don’t ge...

Hornady 7th lists N140 for the 32gr. VM between 25.9 and 29.2 grains, for the 40gr. VM between 25.0 and 27.3 grains, and for the 45gr. SP between 22.1 and 24.7 grains. Sierra didn’t have this in my Edition V 5th Printing but I found and printed it from their site. They have N140 charges for the 32gr...
