Re: my latest prizes....
Ahuuugrrrrrrrrr… Have no use for FERAL cats either. My well worn 39 Century Limited and a Gov. Model MK II Target have both taken out (owner’s request) many of the no longer loved plus several more obviously feral types but that little guy looks more like someone’s cared for petÃ...

Re: OEM barrel break-in
My introduction to re-loading was prompted by the 22 Hornet in 10†Contender back in the mid to latter ‘70s. Somehow I survived ironing the R-P to illegible after too few firings but no matter how stupid I got I couldn’t make the jug splatter effect with the little Hornet equal to...

Re: New
The room I had in mind for myself after you described the conditions you’re forced to endure. I’ll die on my recliner so I’ve lashed the bed on edge against the wall with all the other junk that should have already been tossed, and now that space is my dedicated gun room complet...

Re: OEM barrel break-in
The 6 ½ primer was supposed to be the 7 ½ but misplaced inventory resulted in the sickly brother being delivered instead. The BR-4 I understand also has a heavier cup so I figure on using the 6 ½ on the light stuff or .223 but I will be watching for the first hint and trash them hopefully b...

OEM barrel break-in
I have on hand almost everything I need to sweeten up a new still unfired Remington 700 VLS in 204 Ruger. It will be floated and pillar bedded to both the original laminated and a B&C A3 style stock, choice of Nikon or Leupold covering 4 to 20x in QRW rings on Leupold base, and a Jewell presentl...

Re: .204 Ruger flash hole tweakin
I already have the Sinclair toy for the pocket and their piloted deburr tool. The K&M toys should be here soon. If the Jewell replacing the factory X-Mark doesn’t make a noticeable difference I will be evil. But at this stage in my life I doubt that I will ever notice any gain from anythi...

Re: .204 Ruger flash hole tweakin
Never mind. I just placed an order for both. What’s next – 3 angles on both ends – swirl port – this junk is getting crazier than racing…?

Re: Winter .204 activity
We had about two inches of snow yesterday and at sunrise this morning I was at the kitchen window taking in the way cool colors. About 180 yards out one of our relatively new resident coyotes passes through obviously on a mission. About half an hour latter there are turkey feeding near the same spot...

Re: .204 Ruger flash hole tweakin
Thanks Joe – I have hickory with nutin better to do and several drill motors to choose from. I take it that the “Professional†model is too large in dia. to pass through the .204 necks. Is the shaft on the “Master Cal .19 & .20†enough to reach bottom with 243 Win....

Re: Question----
I just bought a Nikon Monarch 4-16x50 and Leupold QRW rings for swapping in less power when critter splattin. For paper poking I have an older Vari-X III 6.5-20x40AO which has too often been too much for the closer live candidates. Many of the customer reviews I read had the Monarch optics right the...

.204 Ruger flash hole tweakin
Oops! Somewhere I thought I had read that the .204 Ruger was another user of the small flash hole however I have since found that my 5/64†drill bit (~.078â€Â) will easily pass through new Hornady brass. Sinclair has their .081 Flash Hole Reamer #07-3081 for the .204 and most others with t...

Re: Leupold QRW rings
Thanks Rick in Oregon. No competition shooting here, just a .204 play toy DIY project in progress. I’m trying to help prevent cleaning slime from dribbling about the Leupold, bedding, and Jewell after I actually start using this one. I’ve preferred the double dovetail in the past but t...

Leupold QRW rings
Many years ago tried TC’s then new first attempt at quick detach mounts hoping to share one scope with multiple barrels but sent it back after being less than impressed. Now I am considering the Leupold QRW ring and base for my Remington 700 with hope of being able to remove and replace the s...

Re: Flash Hole Reaming tool?
Howdy der FireBallGuy. I think the .204 Ruger’s flash hole is another of the smaller ones at .060â€Â. Factory Hornady brass by eyeballing looks to be closer to .060 than .080 to me.
