Re: CCI - 400 primers

I've still got a few hundred of the CCI 400s I plan to make sure to use them on lighter loads. I've bought some of the BR4 primers and plan to use only those type on my .204 and .223 loads when I run out of the CCI 400s. I think the little extra cost would be worth feeling safer. :)

Reload Data needed for BLC-(2) 204 32gr. SBK

I started with 5 at 26gr. 5 at 26.2gr. and 26.4 gr all with a COAL of 2.300". I shot at 50yds. just to test the loads and the 26.2gr put 4 rounds in one hole barely bigger than a single bullet hole with the fifth about 1/4" to the left of it. The outside Temp. was in the upper 80s with no ...

40gr. Berger hpbt over 29gr. of BLC-(2) in .204

I saw a load listed for 29-30 gr. BLC-2 with 40gr.V-Max in the favorite loads section of this forum. should this also, be safe with the Berger 40gr. hpbt? I've loaded about 10 rounds with an OAL of 2.265" but wanted to check with someone more knowledgeable than I, before firing any of the round...

Re: 32 vs 39 Grain SBK's

Has anyone had experience with both bullets with hand loads in a CZ 527 Varmint in Kevlar? The 39grn. do good in mine I just received some 32grn. but haven't had a chance to try them yet. Thanks! :)

Re: Scope Power

It's a lot like rump-dressing; I'd rather have it and not need it...than need it and not have it. ;) Rump dressing?? Like Prep-H?? Nope...think Charmin, Northern or Angel Soft. Preperation-H would be "rump-ointment", or so I've heard...;) Yep, and I've heard some people who run out of the...

Does the American barrel have the 1:12" twist like my Varmint? Thanks! :)

Re: H322 OR H335 for .204?

I have some BenchMark I've had pretty fair luck with the Sierra 39gr. BKs. I've also tried 35gr. Bergers but the groups aren't quite as good. I think I'll get a pound of H335 and also, some 32gr. bullets. Was that Nosler 32gr. I've already forgotten. Thanks. :) Also, I have some Varget I've b...

H322 OR H335 for .204?

Which seems to be the most accurate (on average) for most of you? I plan to get a pound to try on berger 35gr. and 40gr. also, I have Sierra 39gr. BKs and 40gr. V-Max. I care about accuracy mostly for punching paper. The rifle is a CZ 527 Varmint .204 in Kevlar. Thanks for all help picking one of th...

Berger 40gr. hpbt .204 results?

Has anyone had good accuracy with these size bergers .204 1:12" twist? My particular rifle is the CZ 527 Varmint in Kevlar. I've had pretty good luck with the Sierra BKs 39gr. The 40gr. V-maxes not quite as good so I've got a box of the 40gr. Bergers just haven't tried them yet as I just got th...

Berger 35 grn. FB Varmint powder charge for .204 ?

The load data I found on the Hodgdon data site was for Berger 35 gr. (HP.) 25.0 gr.- 26.6 gr. of Benchmark which is what I have besides Varget. should this data work with the (FB.) Varmint 35gr. also? Or does anyone have any better recommendations for best accuracy? The C.O.L. data is listed as 2.24...

Berger or Nosler for the best groups from 100-200 yards?

I've tried some Sierra BK. 39 grain with 25 grn. of Benchmark which according to the data I found I'm almost at the max. I would like to try something a little lighter in one of these brands of bullets next. The gun is a Rem. 700 VTR .204 the powders I have right now are Varget and Benchmark I plan ...
