Re: IM A Beleiver

Looks fun! Great job and I bet you could tighten it up further.

My first range trip was today as well with my AR...30 minute drive, arrive to locked gates and "Range closed until Jan 1st" sign.

Looks like I'll be sooting in the local sandpit now.

Re: Newbee build

Thx Valar. Have I seen your build pics yet? Well here she be http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w17/wallykl/204.jpg I ordered "high" rings...knowing I'd need some elevation with the flatop. Problem is I need more height yet! Will probably pick up a picatinny elevated platform to give it so...

Re: Help on dies which to buy

thx for the reply Joe. My .204 build is ready for the range. Compared to pistol reloading, all of a sudden, rifle reloading for accuracy has become alot more intimidating. Many more variables to control. My approach as a novice will be to start with factory loads and see what she likes. Plan on usin...

Re: Help on dies which to buy

Possible thread drift here if you allow... Please comment on this statement I've read recently "...bullet seating depth in .204 is less critical, with most chambers having long throats..." I guess the implication is that many reloaders will not be able to get their ogive close enough to th...

Re: hi guys new member needing some info on the 204.

interesting....I had always assumed longer barrel meant more velocity? Interesting idea of "max velocity" being achieved before the bullet exits the muzzle. I wonder if barrel length required for max velocity is less than I might think in many cases.

Re: Newbee build

Yup, I like shooting coyotes and will def use this for that purpose...but main purpose will be PD's. I have found that at least for my 'yoting skill (daylight within 100 yds)...any old scope suits me fine. I want a min of 20X at the high-end...but some scopes might offer 24-30. A friend last yr in M...

Re: Newbee build

So no specific pics of the lower. It seems they're all put together the same. pros ...the Yankee Hill lower is sweet, tight, well machined. Everything fit as advertised. ...the amount of "slop" between this lower and my A3 DPMS lower is almost nonperceptible to this neewb. cons ...I really...

Re: Newbee build

TX... It appears to act as a third hand...as the inner barrel nut is torqued into the outer nut, it is almost a magic trick to hit the torque specification and keep all the gas tube holes aligned....between recveiver, outer nut, inner retaining nut. Reality...took me about 5 tries, so it was somewha...

Re: Newbee build

thx Valar Just completed the lower yesterday. I found instructions and good video on the web. I really struggled with the hammer pin. I'm impressed with how many pins and springs are in a lower. Some of the placements and functions are really quite ingenious. She's together and seems to cycle! Gotta...

thx for that reply....

I notice some shooters seem to be 2-stage guys and some 1-stage guys. Guess I'll soon get the firsthand experience!

Re: AR15 Trigger solutions????

Help a newbee out. Why would I want a single vs. two-stage? I just bought a 2-stage Geissele...why? Because I'm a newbee, it had a good rep and I thought the price was right. Although I know absolutly nothing about triggers, figured I got to jump in somewhere. From my naieve vantage, it seems like t...

Re: Newbee build

http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w17/wallykl/ar4.jpg Finaly! Success! But I mucked up the finish slightly as I tried to use my "third-hand" to hold the outer nut without locktight. Hoping I can apply something to restore the matte finish? http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w17/wallykl/a...
