Well, thanks for the kind words guys.
Just so I don't get credit for that which did not happen though, it did not work out.
I tried to help out, but it blew up in my face.
Still like the idea though. I may give it another whirl.

First coyote with 34 grain CRT
Called in this YOY Sunday. I can't say it was a real good bullet test due to poor shooting on my part, but they still did as good as could be asked of them. First hit was high and back a little too far. The bullet removed everything from the spine up and anchored the coyote. The finisher in the engi...

WTS Savage Douglas .204 Ruger barrel- SOLD
I have a Douglas .204 Ruger barrel I'd like to sell. It is 22" long (OAL) and is a 1-11" twist. Lightweight contour, finishing at .570" at the muzzle. Chrome-moly and is currently painted with camo paint. Will strip and ship "in the white" if desired. It is small shank Savag...

Re: 40 gr CRT vs 40 Berger
Maybe the "overbore" .204 likes a bit of "freebore" like the Weatherby cartridges. I guess I could have still measured max COL with the comparator, just kind of rushed off and seated them off the ogive with what worked for the Bergers. It's crunch time now and I have 160+ rounds ...

Re: 40 gr CRT vs 40 Berger
Good stuff SD!! I just got started playing with the 34 grainers. 3 out of 4 groups were under an inch while progressing up through the charges of IMR8208XBR. One thing that has me scratching my head is that my 11 twist Douglas barrel is throated long. I tried to measure max COL and the bullet fell o...

Re: Temp sensitivity in powder?
...I am surprised at one thing though. I think this is the longest I have seen a thread go without 10x popping up. RL-10X is extremely temp sensitive, so there was no need to interject it into this thread. And it is bad netiquette to ASSUME you know better than the OP what his question should have ...

Re: New 20 Caliber 34 & 40 grain Bullets
Got them today and they look good. It will be a couple of weeks before I can get them on paper, with the dove opener coming up. Will let you know how they do.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

Re: Temp sensitivity in powder?
Got some. It's more like canning green beans than filling a case....Try IMR 4064.
The answer seems to be clear.

Re: Temp sensitivity in powder?
Varget seems a little dirty and is like trickling firewood.
Is 8208 clean and cropped short?

Temp sensitivity in powder?
My predator load is currently made with Varget and Berger 40 grain BTHP's. My rifle is very light and has a fairly short Douglas 11 twist barrel on it. I will be trying some 34 grain CRT bullets soon to try to flatten the trajectory, and they will be used strictly for predator calling. The temps can...

Re: RE 10X and 40 gr Berger BTHP
I have been up to 23.0 grains with the Bergers and,FWIW, up to 24.0 grains with 39 grain SBK's without any problems. Groups averaged .625" and .606" respectively. Varget just beat 10x out for accuracy in mine.

Re: New 20 Caliber 34 & 40 grain Bullets
I would like to give your bullets a try, however my Savage will not chamber a berger hp from the magazine. Is there a chance that with your smaller hp that I would be able to get them to work, or is this something anybody could help me out with? I'd be curious to hear how that pans out. My Savage f...
