Re: savage barrel

In my limited experience with Savage, they seem to foul pretty quickly. If you have to pay much for it I would wait and go with your' favorite custom manufacturer. Ditto that. In fact, that's why my Savage .204 has a Douglas barrel. My 6.5/284 is very accurate, but fouled quickly until it was lapped.

Those look pretty good. Any field reports regarding terminal performance?

Re: Finally got out again...

First shot was right around 100 yards.

The cards are part of an online contest over at the NPHA.

Finally got out again...

Been tied up at work a lot lately and haven't been able to get out. I finally sneaked a morning off and headed to the plains. The only one I got was this ugly thing. I was a bit surprised, because he took four HARD hits. He tried to even the score with me after being hit twice, so I shot him a coupl...

Good gravy, my man. To bad you forgot the camera.

Sounds like some fine shooting.

Re: Got a grey today.

You should go hunting with him. Just try to shoot when he is fooling with the TX500.... :D I imagine he could provide some pretty stiff competition! Hope to see you post up in the contest soon. Lord knows it has been tough for me lately. Forgot to mention, this fox went down to a FoxPro CS24. I carr...

Re: Got a grey today.

Song Dog, I admit to being curious about the Noslers, but with the effectiveness of the Berger's I see no reason to deviate. This little fox was the first critter to take a step after being shot with them. She ran about 35 yards and flopped over. The toothless old hag was the only thing we saw all d...

Re: Got a grey today.

We so desperately need snow...

I think it would drastically improve the predator hunting.

Got a grey today.

Smacked this old gal at 74 yards. Roughed her up a tad, the exit was about the size of a 50 cent piece. 40 grain berger.

Re: 11-26-10 Double

That's what I'm talkin' about!! WTG!! You do very well at accounting for times, sounds used, etc. There are a lot of lessons packed in that little paragraph. Headed out tomorrow, but I gotta carry the 6mm284 because I have a whitetail tag in my pocket. I'll let my cousin use the .204 if he decides t...

Re: Three Dog Day

Good work. Thought there might be more snow over there by now, but looks like they are furred up nice just the same.
