CZ 527 trigger disassembly
I'll post this on other sights but I know there are some tinkers here. Have any of you ever removed the actual trigger blade from a 527, I'd like to try a different spring. Seems the trigger pin on mine is pressed or mushroomed on both sides and may not be easily removed (part #40 in the manual), I ...

Re: Bullets shaving
Thanks Rick, I'll pick up one of those tools, it's been aggravating to spend a lot of time on case prep and whatnot to have the final step produce the shaving.

Bullets shaving
I've been reloading for a few months now with some good success but this one problem seems to creep back and I'd like to get rid of it. It mostly occurs with flat (non-boattail) bullets where a wee bit of the bullet gets shaved when I seat it. I use a chamfer tool and have tried the the low drag mod...

Re: Any advice for a newbie please
I'm by no means an expert or even as close to being as knowledgeable as some here but with that high of a twist rate I would think the 45s and heavier would perform well.

Re: Handloads saved my rifle
I had done quite a bit of research on this site and the first load that I got going proved to be a winner; 39g BK, 25g 10x, 2.330 OAL, Hornady brass and CC! BR primers Starting to work with some Berger 35g now and also Varget powder. I've had some stinkers but some have shown some potential. And Mzi...

Handloads saved my rifle
A few months ago I purchased a CZ527 varmint in .204 and wasn't really satisfied with it's performance 1.5" groups at 100yards. Bedded the rifle, same results, ground out the bedding and rebed it with pillars, same results, swapped out the scope and rings, same results, tried different ammo (Hu...

Re: scope size recommendations
If you're on a budget, Clearidge make a really nice 6.5-20 for under $400, I've seen nothing but positive reviews and have one on my CZ. Purchased mine, an Ultra XP, from www.theopticzone.com for $359.00 shipped. Granted it's not a VX3 but the clarity is pretty close in my opinion and for the price ...

Re: Grouping interpretation help
The loosening / tightening of the action screws is something I've always done with my rimfires before I start shooting them. I don't do it between groups, just the start. The thinking behind it is that the gun was last disassembled in a climate controlled environment then brought out into hot and hu...

Grouping interpretation help
I'm hoping to get a little help in figuring out what happened today, kinda new to the longer range shooting and I'm still learning. Started off today setting up a 200yd target across an old pasture I have the good fortune of being able to shoot at. I loosened the screws holding my action in and tigh...

Re: First 204
Well, went to the gunshow this weekend and had decided that if there was a Cooper 204 there then I would pick it up. I should have know better, gunshows today are far from the ones of my youth. Anyhow, I walked by a CZ dealers boot and there it was sitting, what I thought I could not get according t...

Re: First 204
Sidewinderwa, would you say the accuracy between the CZ and Savages are similar or do the Savages you've seen out perform the CZs by a considerable amount?
By the way, nice signature picture.

Re: First 204
Oh I've looked at the Coopers...a lot, then looked again..and again. I can see how they would multiply. The local gunstore has a few second hand ones that I have been looking at, a 22-250, couple 270s a 243 and a 220 Swift (came close to picking this up but the barrel burner reputation put me off) b...

Re: First 204
Thanks guys, I'll take another look at the Savages and CZs. I had heard good things about the Savages and their accuracy but there were problems with workmanship. I also just have an old aversion to the brand. I know they have done a lot in the past few years to improve quality and put out a better ...

First 204
I've been reading these forums for a bit and doing some research online and decided to go ahead and purchase a .204. First I want to say the forums and information here have been really helpful in my research. I've read a lot of opinions, specs, reviews and other posts that have helped me in narrowi...
