Re: 35gr bergers
I couldn't get Benchmark to settle the 35g Bergers. I had great luck with Reloader10x and BL(c)-2

Re: re10x limits
I use 25.5g of re10x under a 35g Berger with great results, went up to 25.7g with no pressure signs and I'm on the 4th reload in several cases.

throat erosion=barrel life?
I bought a used savage varmint barrel, the throat has visible erosion out 1-2" beyond the chamber. I have yet to mount and try it, and may end up shortening and rechambering it. I'm curious what kind of round count you p-dog shooters are getting before you lose your accuracy, and what visible s...

Moly vs no moly powder charge
I just received some 35g Berger's moly'd . I was wondering if anyone has done a side by side comparison with the same bullet un-moly'd , to know how much more powder is used to reach the same speed / accuracy nodes.

Re: Reloder series powder
I just loaded a Re- 10x ladder test batch, 22.5g to 25.5g under 35g Bergers, and I was surprised by how much unused powder capacity there was at 2.3" LOA. I'm looking forward to trying them over the weekend.RAMOS wrote:RL10X has been working so well for me that I have not strayed away from it.

neck size vs FL?
My franken-savage .204 (factory stainless barrel) seems to have a chamber slightly larger than my RCBS dies ( 1x fired base dimension .381" with my cheap calipers). I have to work the cases pretty hard, because I only have a FL die. Should I be considering a neck sizing die?, different Mfg. die...

Ruger 77, 284 win twist rate?
I've finally found a Ruger 77 in .284. I've gotten mixed answers about the twist rate, does anyone know?
Thanks,
Jeff

Re: 204 short barrel?
Well Thanks for that link JoeO, that's exactly what I wanted. TonyB, even at the loss of 50fps/inch over the total test, it is a significant velocity loss for this caliber known for it's speed. "Muzzle blast was pulling things off the shelf 30' away"(!!!). I hope I don't regret just buying...

204 short barrel?
Has anyone had experience with short barrels in 204, (16"-18" )?What were the adverse/positive effects vs, the more typical 22-24" barrels?
Thanks, and Merry Christmas,
Jeff

Moly is molybdenum disulfide.
(except moly has a carnauba wax step, which some folks skip).
Mr. Dobbs,
What is the wax step? I'm considering coating my .204's with moly.
