had a very similar thing happen a few years ago on one of my custom built Ar's. Never really came up with a solid explanation. Feel free to read my story if you like. Glad you weren't injured. I thought i wasnt gonna hear outta my left ear for second when it happened to me.

i have a shilen 1-10 twist and it shoots dog town 34's fantastic. one ragged hole. i have actually had better luck with the dog towns in all my rifles over any other bullets believe it or not.

nice set up. i had the very same rifle as my first 204 and loved it. wish i didnt sell it cause it could drive tacks. you might try reloader 10x with that rifle. if i remember right my like 25.6g with a 32g v-max bullet. check the min max on that powder as i am just going from memory. ive heard good...

sorry for the late post. i work in a retail store and have looked through all the binos and rangefinders for many hours and all in low light situations. i think you would be pretty happy with switch power binos, while there are more clear binos ( swaro, leica, zeiss victories) you will pay many hund...

I live in NW Montana and the weather for about the last month has definitely not been good for huntin. last day or two hasnt been to bad though hope it holds out for you.
