Should I go.
Well... Its not hunting, but I have been offered a little trip for free I am debating this one. My boss has a little 18' white water jet boat. He loves his toy, and has decided for memorial day to take it up to Riggins Idaho for the salmon run. He asked if my other Co-worker and I would like to tag ...

Full Length Stock for a Win Model 70.
I am looking for a Stock for a Winchester Model 70 in 243. Here is the problem it was passed down to me by my mother who is 5'1", not a midget but close. The walnut stock on this rifle was cut to fit her when she was 14 years old. I dont like punching myself in the face every time I shoot it so...

Re: Favorite Loads
Well, I got the Ruger .204 rifle back from my smith and he did a great job on the trigger. It is now 2.5 pounds with no creep and just what I wanted. I watched him do the job. Groups were not much better so I took the gun back to him last week for a bedding job and picked it up about three hours ag...

Re: First time loading 1000 duplicate rounds.
I bought the Lee 50th anniversary set. It has the same powder thrower. I find that the 204 neck fits up into the throw tube. If you Turn it in your fingers as you throw the charge no powder bridges occur and I can charge my cases pretty fast. I almost forgot. Take the funnel that comes with the Lee ...

Re: proper drop for a 32 grain Blitking?
I would come up a click or two at 100, Set it .75 to 1" high at 100. At 200 you will be right on, possibly .25 high. Then at 300 it should continue to be 3.5 to 4 inches low. Get a nice comfortable bench and shoot 5 shot groups at all ranges. Do a wipe down of the bore between each group. A boa...

Re: Terminal Ballistics
Look into the Barnes Varmint grenades. They come apart on contact with just about Anything. So no need to worry about the houses surrounding farm land if your round impacts the ground or a critter.

Re: My New 204 Meets Skippy Part I

Sunday Afternoon May 2nd
Found a new spot today. Wind was North to South 3/4 Value 10 to 15mph with gusts of 25. My perch overlooking a nice size squirrel patch. Range was 150 on the front end to 350+. Loaded with targets. http://i329.photobucket.com/albums/l388/Rashgar1/Rifle%20set/SkippyinIdaho007.jpg Some of the results....

Re: Prairie Dog Vital Zone
Ruger1, I will have to agree. Savage 12 VLP 1-12" in .204 39gr SBK's 27.4 gr Varget CCI #400 Primers Hornady or Winchester Brass I think this works anywhere that hair is touching skin. Its hard to find any sizeable data though. However I dont think sagebrush or tubleweeds are tinted red natural...

Seeking SW Idaho Shooters, Need Info
Anyone in SW Idaho ever went down to the CJ strike Dam area? Someone said Behind the Simco Stockyards on the rocks overlooking the snake river there are alot of Chucks and other varmits to shoot at. I mostly just hang south of Boise With my Son. Only started Rat shooting this year. I am addicted pre...

Re: Shoulder crumpling when seating bullet
Disregard the OAL question. I mulled it over in my head about 30 times wondering what I was doing wrong and it hit me. I will do the measurment again. Most Likely with Much different results.

Re: Countdown to Memorial Weekend PD shoot in SD
South of Boise Idaho at the National guard open live fire ranges we drive the edges shooting into the range. Tons of what we call Whistle Pigs (sage rats). Son and I stayed at one spot and shot them for over 5 hours. Nothing like the look on a 9 year olds face when you make a whistle pig explode at ...

Re: Shoulder crumpling when seating bullet
Thanks Jo
Using the Lee Dies, I will give this a shot.
Also on seating depth, When I test loaded a bullet to check the rifling marks. Odd thing is seating depth done in this matter is exactly 2.260. Does my Rifle just happen to match the Max OAL. Or did I do the measurments wrong?
Thanks.

Shoulder crumpling when seating bullet
On occasion when seating the bullet on my 204 the shoulder gives way causing the case to bulge. I had 3 rounds do that so far. One was Hornady brass two were on Winchester Brass.
OAL with 39gr Sierra BlitzKings is 2.258 to 2.261.
Any help would be appreciated.
