Re: Large Explosion at Nosler Today

Hey Rick... Glad to hear your wife and her co-workers are all OK. As has been said, the buildings and such can be replaced.

Re: Please verify this drop chart for me.

Here's the formula to calculate muzzle energy.... E=MV2/450400 or E=bullet mass(in grains) times muzzle velocity squared divided by 450400. For a 40 gr bullet at 1066 that equals 101 ft. lbs rounded to nearest whole number. With that in mind the 86 ft. lbs for the 34 gr is right on.

Re: Please verify this drop chart for me.

Here's a reference to possibly compare ME to something we are all familiar with... .22 LR. Offered as input to the ME question posed. Interesting also that the BC for one of the rounds shown is the same as the advertised BC for the Dogtown bullet. http://www.gunsmoke.com/guns/1022/22ballistics.html

Re: Calculating Distance With Mil Dots

I called Barska to ask that question and was told the mildot system is calibrated at 10X. You might call as that may differ from model to model.

Re: cheap bullets

Here's the best prices I have found for .204 Ruger. They use Winchester brass mostly I was told in a call to them.

Circa 1974 reloading costs

Here's a list of reloading costs I ran across from my old reloading log book. Note that there are 3 reloading manuals on the list. Sure can't come close to this today!!!

Re: Forster 3 in 1 case trimmer

Just talked to a lady at Forster. The .204 pilot for the std. case trimmer will not work in the 3 in 1. She said they plan to make the 3 in 1 available in more calibers but currently are having difficulty keeping up with the requests for what is now available caliber wise. Hopefully the .204 version...
