Re: Pig Bomb
all those people in the south who like to hunt pigs should like this if this is true. i'll bet the crop farmers aren't very happy though. pigs aren't great on the deer population either - at least in california.

Re: DPMS or Bushmaster?
Ok 1) i didn't realize that being the "new guy" on the forum made me somehow less experienced. I have posted on far fewer threads than you, rick, or most of the other people have posted here. i have only posted my "opinion" on one thread, the others have been posts related to my ...

Re: DPMS or Bushmaster?
oh yes and did i mention that it's a nikon scope with a heavy duplex reticle for the extra challenge. jk. i must be better at shooting than i thought because i didn't realize this was such a big deal. sure the accuracy of the rifle is impressive, but it isn't that hard to shoot 500 yards with solid ...

Re: DPMS or Bushmaster?
p.s. i think worrying about spelling on a forum is about as retarded as you think hunting deer with a 204 is for the record. as long as the message is understood

Re: DPMS or Bushmaster?
all right old man if you want to join me and my buddies in chico i'll save the sack of golf balls in the back of my truck for when you get here and well show you what real rifles are capable of. who knows i might actually like your old set-in-your-ways hiney after all. if you like shooting little cr...

Re: DPMS or Bushmaster?
i would question anybody who said that also so no offense taken. most people who say they can shoot really are not all that great. yes, i know it is pretty amazing thats why i posted it. i consider myself a pretty decent shot, but i can't do this every day, however the rifle can. my wife (go figure)...

Re: .257 weatherby or .270WSM
257 weatherby is an impressive cartridge, but factory loaded ammo is very pricey. 270wsm ammo is cheaper, but still expensive at most places. the 270wsm has some higher bc bullets factory loaded for it than does the 257 weatherby. more new rifles are also currently chambered for 270wsm than the 257 ...

Re: DPMS or Bushmaster?
yes in a 204. my rifle is zeroed for 400yards. that gives me about 12" of drop at 500. The rifle is capable of producing groups that small. it is the most accurate rifle i have ever shot. i don't know if saber defense turns out rifles of this quality all the time or if i just got lucky, but it ...

Re: .204 ruger on a deer?
sorry i know this is a late post, but if you refer to the thread i started in the 204ruger section i have related a story about culling deer and pigs. it is effective on deer sized game, but i recommend the 45gr bullets if you want complete penetration. did you take a deer with your 204?

Re: harvested hogs and deer with superb results. 204 ruger
again you ignore the numbers i have presented. many people harvest elk with 150gr 270 caliber projectiles. this is considered and accepted as the right tool for the job by reasonable people. this is less effective when compared to the weight of an elk than a 40gr 204 bullet is to a deer. yes i agree...

Re: harvested hogs and deer with superb results. 204 ruger
you guys crack me up. the same sarcasm and you continue to ignore the valid points of my argument. yes a 204 is perfectly adaquete for an elk if you plan on making only head or neck shots under 200yards or so. actually a 17hmr is perfectly adaquate if you plan on keeping your shots uner 150yrds and ...

Re: DPMS or Bushmaster?
i purchased a saber defence upper and it can shoot! i can keep five shot groups inside a golfball at 500 yards with a proper rest. very impressed and pleassed with it. the only draw back is the weight if you plan on hiking around with it. you can find them for $800 to $950 for the upper.

when you get back from the hog trip i would be interested in hearing how your success went with the 204 and rem. 17. any pics would be awsome. unfortunatly, when i'm hunting, the last thing on my mind is a camera so a rearely get pictures of anything untill i get back home.

Re: harvested hogs and deer with superb results. 204 ruger
strange how the math that helps support my point of view and the articles i have referanced along with my own and others proven success with small bore calibers on medium game has been convienently ignored. all you guys can say is esentialy you think it's no good because someone told you it is or yo...
