Re: choosing a bullet and powder for .204 please help
I've had great success with 39gr BK's and 28gr Varget in my .204 Savage LRPV. Great groups and the results in the field were awesome.

Re: digital powder measure scale and dispensers
I'm relatively new to reloading but have been doing a lot of it this year. I bought the RCBS Chargemaster 1500. If you shoot a lot of prairie dogs etc. then you load a lot of ammo. Mine is very accurate and I have not experienced any malfunctions. My loads are consistant and accurate. It's a little ...

Re: lapping rings
I agree on the alignment tool. One kit comes with lapping rod too. Add a level, level, level kit to the tools and a decent torque wrench and you are set. Assuming you have a place to lock your rifle down to keep it square and vertical. Made all my scope work much easier.

Re: Grouping interpretation help
I've never heard of loosening and tightening action screws as a matter of cooling a gun down or when shooting groups. From your comments that was what I assumed you were doing. I know that if you don't use a precise sequence for tightening those screws that can create some issues. I may be really mi...

Re: CLEANING THE ACTION
I totally agree with Rick. I use the Sinclair tool and it does a great job. I was shocked at the crud I had been missing. I've also learned a lot about copper fouling this year. Finally found some chemicals and a process that works well thanks to a fellow shooter in Florida.

Re: consistent kill distance
I forgot to mention that until recently I had been using reticle's and guessing at holdover etc. I told you I was new to this. I bought a Sightron Mil Dot scope and really like it. So far it's a great improvement.

Re: consistent kill distance
I love my Savage LRPV's in .204 but can't wait to save the bucks for a Cooper or a Dakota Arms. I'm not as experienced at this as many on this forum but Rick I love the Sierra Blitz King's and I'm using Varget right now. I recently had my longest pdog kill at 550 yards but with the .204 I feel very ...

Re: If you had $1000 at cabelas...
Since you mentioned glass I thought I'd mention I just picked up a pair of Nikon Monarch X binoculors. I ran into a deal with a friend trading a rifle etc. and we were able to pick up 2 pair much cheaper than Cabela's sells them. We got 10.5x45 and I've got to say they are way superior to my old Act...

Re: Hornady Lock-n-Load Case Prep Center
I recently prepped 2000 cases with my RCBS and it worked very well. I considered the Hornady but the price difference made my decision for me. At $119.00 compared to $300.00 I could not justify it. I agree that having the rotating parts flat instead of vertical should be less strain on the operator....

Re: ruger M77 MarkII target .204 ruger problems
Sounds to me like you need to adjust the windage screws on the scope and start from scratch. Lots of theories on scope mounting and bore sighting. I alway take my windage and elevation knobs and take them all the way to one side and then count clicks all the way back. I then count back to the middle...

Re: Ruger rifle
Just like Joe O, I recently bought the Ruger 1V in SS .204. Had the trigger changed out right away as they have notorious tough triggers ( I have owned 3 ). Unlike some reports I have seen this thing shoots bug holes. Very consistant groups and right now is pushing my LRPV in accuracy but the trigge...

I don't kow how much you guys are paying or if you are at all but you might contact Lyle Anderson at Double A Outfitters in White Horse SD. It's outside Mobridge. They have a 1st class facility and are a great family. It's all inclusive with the food, drinks and shooting but you are left to shoot on...

Re: Tell us about yourself...
I live west of St Louis Mo about 20 miles. Retired 2 years ago and have been addicted to shooting pd's ever since. I love the .204 and have recently started reloading. I was in Eastern Colorado last week for a 3 day shoot and it was fair mainly because the pups weren't up yet and the winds were!!! J...

Re: Savage 12 LRPV
I currently own 3 LRPV's. I have 2 in .223 and plan to convert 1 to 6BR and have one in .204. Recently sold my 22-250 LRPV. I went thru several varmint rifles before deciding this one was for me. I'm sure there are better rifles out there but in my opinion it's a keeper right out of the box. I have ...
