I recently bought the Wheeler kit and have mounted three scopes with it already. It has worked great so far and quality seems pretty good, but I'm sure its not the best on the market at only ~$100.

Re: Who Needs a 26" Barrel?
Glad to hear of your success Rick! A tackdriver that looks great too! I might have to try H4895 when I'm out'a school for winter break, although I'm pretty happy with RL-10x. Accuracy>speed for me, but when you can have both....

Re: Which Leupold scope is right for me?
This is going to be put on a savage 12fv in 204 ruger. I push 39 BK's with a max load of RL-10x which should put me just over 3700 fps. From reading other peoples experience with these bullets I figure the longest I will be shooting is 600-650 yards on a calm day, which means I will need about 11 mo...

Re: Which Leupold scope is right for me?
Acloco : Thats what I am leaning towards. I think I am willing to give up 2x on the lower end for 2x on the upper end for target shooting. I wasn't considering the weight of the scope, but with my Harris 13-27" bipod attached this rifle weights over 12 lbs already so I should probably try to s...

Re: Which Leupold scope is right for me?
Jim : Thanks for the reviews. I am still considering options and I'll check out the "Sample list". I guess we are opposites, up until now I thought a $200 scope was high quality! And I like the sound of extra internal adjustment, so looks like I will be getting a 30mm. I'll listen to ramb...

Re: Which Leupold scope is right for me?
Rick : Thanks for the tips. That is a fine looking rifle! I guess I should be looking at the lower magnification range. I have enjoyed the 16x while target shooting, so I figured more would be better  . I believe you prefer the M1 turret over the target turrets? What are your reasons? Thanks, ...

Which Leupold scope is right for me?
I've been stashing money away for a while now and am planning to upgrade the scope I have on my savage (a cheap Center Point 4-16x). I want quality and have decided on a leupold. Now I just have to decide what model and power range suites me best. I target shoot a lot, so I want at least 16x, but mo...

Re: need advice on tools
I recently purchased a K & M 20 cal flash hole deburring tool. I like it because it indexes off the web of the case rather than off the neck and it worked great on 100 cases so far.

Re: weight of brass
I just did the process described by RIO on 100 pieces of Win brass. It didn't take all that long and it gave me that extra bit of confidence by eliminating more variables. I'm still pretty "green" in regards to precision reloading, but I would say its worth it.

O and I almost forgot. Round was a 39 BK, win preped case, 25.1 gr. RL-10x, and rem 7 1/2 primer.

first Crow with new rifle!
Hey all! I've posted here a few times and am a frequent visitor of the site. Of you have helped me with some reloading issues and I finally have a load worked up that gives decent accuracy! Anyways, this morning I got up, ate breakfast, and was going to start organizing some things for the move back...

Re: 35s, 39s, or 40s for Coyotes
Great topic. I can't wait to here what everyone has to say. I have no experience, but I am rooting for 39 BK's, as I have spent the summer developing a load for coyote hunting this winter. The heavier weight and great BC really attracted me. In fact, I just picked up another pound of RL-10x today an...

Re: BL-C(2) and temperature
well I checked some of my brass today in my chamber and they indeed went in tight. I took out my new redding full length sizer and ran 10 pieces through with Imperial sizing wax as far as they could go. I have never full length sized rifle brass and I had some dents form in the shoulder (too much lu...
