Re: Coyote bullet...doesn't save fur!
The Nosler BT has a solid base, which probably makes it a better choice for coyotes than some other bullets.

Re: 1-10 Twist
CV32: Just out of curiosity, what velocities are you getting shooting the 50 grainers in your ten twist .204? I ask, as I use the 50gr .224" bullet at 3,700 fps in my 12 twist 223 Ackley for grass rats besides my three 204's and Swift. The BC is better with the heavy .204 bullet, but what's th...

Re: 1-10 Twist
spacewelder, I had a 1 in 10 twist Pac-Nor Super Match barrel, with a match chamber, dropped into my Remington 700 VLS. I can tell you that it loves the 50 gr Berger over 25.0 gr H4895. I'm looking forward to shooting it a lot more this summer once I get a Jewell BR trigger installed.

Re: New Cooper
Nice rifle! For factory ammo, I'd be looking at the Federal Premium V-Shok with the 39 gr Sierra Blitz Kings.ruger44 wrote:It will be a little while before I get my reloading set up. Any suggestions on factory ammo for coyote/crow/paper out to 300 yds.? Thanks

38 gr Wildcat claims young female coyote
This young female (no doubt born this past spring) came to 'pup in distress' on my Foxpro FX3 on the first day of the season. The 38 gr Wildcat HP bullet from my .204 CZ 527 LH American did quite a number on her small frame and summer pelt. Softball sized exit. http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b117...

Wind direction and terrain are going to dictate where you place your e-caller, and in most instances, this will probably be somewhere in front of you.

Re: Hey CV32...
Finally got around to trying some 50 gr Bergers in the 1 in 10 twist Pac-Nor barrel. Here is the very first load I tried, three shots with 25.0 gr H4895. I was simply hoping that they would stabilize, so I was very pleased. :D http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b117/CV32/204Ruger_50Berger_090807.jpg

Re: Cooper Jackson Varminter?
Hi Folks I can't seem to find much information about this particular Cooper. From what I gather it is a lightweight varminter style. Anyone own one? Does anyone know if they do it in a left hand model 21??Thanks Matt Matt, I know there is a Canadian dealer for Cooper named Prophet River Firearms. J...

Sorry for the terrible delay, but finally got around to taking a photo of the 1 in 10 twist Pac-Nor rebarreled VLS ... http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b117/CV32/DSCF9271.jpg Haven't really worked up any loads for it just yet, but I was trying some loads I had done for another .204, and its pushing...

Re: Hey CV32...
I just read in another thread that your Remmy VLS is back from Pac-Nor. Think you could post some pics of the finished product? I will do that. I'm thinking of doing a bedding job before I start any load testing, and in any event, we'll have to get rid of some more snow before I can take her out fo...

Re: .204 Barrel twist
I recently rebarreled my factory 1 in 12 twist .204 Ruger Remington 700 VLS to a 1 in 10 twist Pac-Nor. I've yet to shoot it with the new barrel, but I'm looking forward to seeing how well the 40 gr Bergers perform. (Maybe the 50 gr Bergers too, I bought a box of those to try).
