.270 WSM//130 gn Nosler Accubond/IMR 4350

Anyone have min/max load for this combo? I can't seem to find it anywhere.

Re: Problems with forster full length die

I recently had a similar problem with my hornady .270 WSM die for reloads in my Kimber 8400. The die was new out of the box, but it set the case headspace .007 longer that I wanted it (with the die set as low as it would go). I called hornday, shipped the die to them, and they ground down the die an...

Re: 32's reload vs 39 factory

I recently bought the hornady kit. I like it all very much except the scale - it does not stay calibrated. I am new to reloading as well, but you can get .5 groups with that gun. I have had luck with the lower charges.

Re: Trimming brass in the 204???

Thanks, that answered my question - going to go with size then trim. I size first, then trim. The logic there (for me anyway) is that sizing often changes the length of the brass. If I trim after sizing, then I can trim all the brass to a uniform length, and expect no changes (in trim length) until ...

Re: Trimming brass in the 204???

Stupid question - do y'all trim before or after re-sizing. I have read it both ways. Seems like trimming after resizing would yield more consistency.

Re: Need help deciding on which powder to use?

I started with varget, but have since read that most people have had better luck with different powders. Going to try Reloader 10x next.

Re: M77 Mark II Stainless – First Reloads

Despite my previous statements (above) I just dropped my M77 off at the gunsmith to get glass bedded, floated, and trigger work done. I also just orderd a box of 39 gn SBK and 26 gn Varmit Grenades. Looking forward to loading both of those. I think I am officially addicted.

Re: Trimming brass in the 204???

The brass I am working with now is twice fired hornady. 30 percent were at 1.840, and the rest were around 1.848. I guess I will reload the ones that were at 1.840 and then trim the rest down to that level once my trimmer gets in.

Re: Trimming brass in the 204???

I also have a brass trimming question. I just ordered a forster case trimmer and I am trying to figure out what length to trim my cases to. My hornady book says case trim length 1.840, and max case length 1.850. I plan to do the trick with a slit in the case neck to get a measurement as to where the...

Re: Gonna start reloading for my 204

I am new as well, in addition to the press you will need a priming tool, dies (sizing and setting), case lube, caliper (i prefer digital), reloading manual, powder scale, powder charger, powder funnel, and components. I would also recommend getting a primer brush and case lube pad. Eventually you wi...

Re: M77 Mark II Stainless – First Reloads

I am going to keep working through the loads, and then try the 39 BK. Hopefully I can bring the groups in tighter. Hope to go shoot again soon.

Re: M77 Mark II Stainless – First Reloads

I also have a M77 MKII but mine is the target model. Your groups sound pretty similar to mine though. What I found out (regardless of bullet or powder) was that my rifle liked lighter powder loads. So I have been loading them around min or slightly under min. Consistently gives groups under 1/2&quo...

Re: M77 Mark II Stainless – First Reloads

The gun is pretty much all factory. I bought it used from a guy who does a lot of shooting and reloading and I was told it was properly broken in. No barrel work at all. I did take the gun to a gunsmith to get the trigger "worked" and set at 3 lbs. However, it has since developed a conside...
