Re: Problems with forster full length die

Thanks for the tip on the Redding shell holders.I never looked into them, but I believe their main use is to easily control seating depth, without changing the seating die adjustments.I get the thinner for a headspace fix.Works, and cheap to do.

Re: 26" 204 Encore barrel

I'm still working up loads on a 23" factory Bull barrel in my .204 G2 Contender, using 32gr Sie BK,but it has been windy since I installed a new Bullberry target forend on a barrel hanger.I was in the 3s with a few loads.Difficult to say about you one flyer, but I would consentrate on load tecniq...

Re: Started on my Reloadiong/Gun room

Good tip Max.If I ever had a dedicated loading room(I'm close now),those inserts would be a clean way to install multiple presses in the same location(space consideration)At one time I had a 4 MEC loading set up in a closet 3" wide, with presses mounted on a small board that I could C clamp to t...

Re: Problems with forster full length die

I use a Forster bump shoulder neck bushing die,so can't provide any experience with your exact problem, other than to second the previous reply,by possibly changing to a thinner shel holder (Redding has sizes),and cam over after touching the die.Forster has been receptive when I told them they had th...

Re: Started on my Reloadiong/Gun room

The Pics have inspired me.Yesterday I cleaned all the boxes, empty powder kegs, etc, out.Couldn't believe all the long gun boxes I had,and don't know how they got there.LOL.It's all the Shotgun wads, cases, etc, that take so much room, plus four MEC presses;three moveable for storage, but need to get them ...

Re: What's your round count....

Have three.Don't ask.I know, you don't need to.Round count still low.The LRPV has 300,the other two @ 200 and 40.One thing I am doing ,is to use different head stamps for each gun.WW,Hornady, and Remington.

Re: Started on my Reloadiong/Gun room

Nice start. Most of us dom't have the space or equipment drawers like that.As far as rifle racks ,I would put my cleaning table on the long back wall, with a wall mount verticle gun rack, over that.Looks like, with permantly mounted bench presses, hanging over the edge of your loading bench, you'll loose ...

Re: Windage alignment,Weaver base on G2 Contender

Thanks John.Just the info one needs when ventuting into a new type action.I'm lucky,in that merely removing the base and turning the Burris Z rings arond,I would up with a set up that was near zero wih the reticle centered.I would have chased the posibility of the base first. The gun only had about 1...

Re: I'm worried: 32 gr VMax

I'm still load developing on two, soon to be three 204rugers.Most of my reloads have been with the 33 pieces of federal brass that I shot out of my Savage LRPV,now loaded 10 times.I must transition to WW brass because that is what I'll load fo my first PD shoot ,in May. Lets start buy cleaning the pr...

Re: Looking for some feedback

Ruger doesn't list the 204 in the #1 varmit model, and the Stainless is no longer available, via an Email I received back from customer service.I don't understand why they would co-produce a dedicated varmit cartridge, and not chamber it in their varmit gun models.I also told them they need to bring ou...

Re: Windage alignment,Weaver base on G2 Contender

Thanks Lenord.I straight edged everything yesterday and couldn't detect a misalignment of the base to barrel, which the base is atttached to. I shot the scope on another rifle, and it was no problem.I'm pretty sure it isn't the scope, and it has 65 MOA elevation and windage,so no problem to zero,howeve...

Windage alignment,Weaver base on G2 Contender

Anyone have excessive windage misalignment using Burris signature, Z rings ,mounted on a Weaver base, on a G2 contender Barrel? The scope came off another rifle with Burris standard windage adjustable mounts and turn in signature rings.I've had to install both sets of +/- 10 offset inserts to keep f...

Re: has anyone replaced their Ruger # 1 trigger themselves?

The trigger replacement is encouraging, but what got my attention,is the V1 in 204.I was talking to my shooting buddy this morning about the Ruger #1 vt and wondered why it wasn't chambered in 204ruger (Ruger web site),since they collaberated on the cartridge. The site only shows a blued modle in .223...
