Re: trouble with consistent reloads

Most loaders that would have a concentricity gage are turning the necks on all the brass. The Hornady seating die aligns the bullet and case mouth before the bullet is inserted. The competition dies from Redding have a window to place the bullet, with exellent alignment.I use a Vickerman, the original w...

Re: trouble with consistent reloads

Try the Sie 39BK and seat to 2.350,load single shot, shoot three 5 shot groups. Also seat out to max of what the magazine will allow, and shoot additional groups.

Re: new remington 700 and 40 grain v max not grouping at 100 yds

Take pictures of that shaved case head.I don't believe the final inspection at some manufacturers pay attention to the fired case or barrel alignment for that matter.I got a gun that had excessive primer cratering, with all factory ammo and reloads. They replaced the bolt head, but it should have never...

Woody,if you don't get 1/2" groups with the Federals and 39gr Sie BK,return the rifle. My SAVAGE SHOT THE fACTORY FEDERALS @ .333 RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX,WITH A 1:12 TWIST.BEDDING,ACTION SCREWS,AND/OR FLOATING THE BARREL,ARE POSIBILITIES.

Re: .204 sighting in distance

Mike,I believe they are right.I tried a 1" high set at 100yds.Shot high at 200yds,used 2ND lower bar at 300 and it shot high, then 3nd bar at 400 went over the target.Re-read the instructions, which stated to sight in on the main Xhair at 100yds (large triangle on power ring (17X). That's what I'...

Re: Looking for 218 Bee Brass

Your right John.I'm not stuck with an unusable gun, that's why I want the brass before I order the barrel for my G2 Contender.I may have found some today in a small independent shop.Won't know for sure till monday.Whenever Winchester decides to stop making a particular caliber, your out of luck.Course...

Looking for 218 Bee Brass

I have been backordered on WW 218 Bee brass from a few large box stores for months. If you have a local gun shop in your area, that carries Brass, they might just have some in stock.A call might turn some up.Let me know what you find and send me the phone number of the store,so I can close the deal.Tha...

Re: .204 sighting in distance

I'm still working with my Leupold VX3 LR with the Varmint reticle. They recomend a sight in distance of 300yds,which I thought was too far,but shooting out to 400yds,they may be right.I'm thinking a 225-240 yard zero would be about right, at 3700fps MV. 300 yard zero seems way too far to me as well....

Joe, I don't think that's the kind of lever action that derbyking was referring to.

I'm aware.A little ol'time humor.LOL :D
