Re: Maximum Point Blank Range for factory Federa 39gn?
If that Leupy has the Varmint reticle,They recomend a zero of 300yds.I believe they are close. The 39gr at 3700,or the 32gr at 4000+FPS,can be sighted in 1.5" high at 100yds,and be on fur to 400yds (PDs).Check drop tables, and call Sierra,as I suggested in other post.

Re: Loading for Accuracy Vs. Velocity
The info you have sounds right. That Federal load shot .333 from my ,out of the box, Savage LRPV.Max,or near max loads produce both, accuracy, and high velocity.Just work up your loads with whatever powder you choose.I use a 2.350 for the Sie 39gr BK,but all factory loads are arounf 2.250 and they stil...

Re: do possums eat chickens ?
THEY PROBABLY CATCH THE CHICKENS ROOSTING OR HERD THEM IN A CORNER.BESY WAY TO DISPACH A SKUNK IN THE TRAP IS IMERSE THE ENTIRE TRAP IN A POND OR LARGE TRASH CAN FILLED WITH WATER,OTHERWISE,FOR OTHER ANIMALS,A PISTOL SHOT SHELL,THROUGH A WIRE CAGE,WORKS BEST.tWO,OR THREE FEET, SHOULD WORK WELL.

Re: New to the forum- new to the 204
All load advice is good.On the LRPV,and many other production 20 rugers, you can forget reaching the lands,as they all have excessively long throats. If you measure a Hornady factory round, 40 or 32 grain, you will find the OAL about 2.250 +/- .002.There is allot of jump, but it seems to work,as most wi...

Medium should be fine,if measurement is from top of base to center of ring.Confirm with Ruger tech assistance.

Re: RL17 with 40 grain bullets, anyone try?
I agree with Fireballguy.RL 17 is near H4350 in burn rate.Many powders give better performance.Those mentioned,and IMR 8208 XBR,Varget,Benchmark,etc

Do you have a 1:8 twist on that 20BR?

Re: Why I load to 2.247" Cartridge Overall Length. Make sense?
I agree with your procedure for seating the bullets to go in the AR clip.Sorting bullets with a bullet comparator, will reveal as much as .015 difference with bullets out of the same box.(mostly long slender ones). I sort bullets for consistance, when shooting groups, but don't bother when loading hi-v...

Offset rear scope rings
Anyone know where I can find a rear, 30mm offset ring, for a Ruger K1V. I need the scope brought to the rear for proper eye relief, at higher power settings, on a Leupy VX3 LR 6.5-20x40.

Re: 39 grain blitzkings + vit133
http://www.eabco.com/VihtaVuori01.pdf Vit 133 has a burn rate the same as H335 and X-Terminator,while H4895 is slightly slower. The site above doesn't show load data for the 204r,but neither did the Sierra manual,so I called them and they sent me an Email with full page load data.Their Ph# is on the ...

Re: A New 20 cal round
There's .223 WSSM shooters driving 40-gr pills to 4500 fps and 55-grainers to 3800. And they get to use factory brass. If you're just looking for an exotic wildcat round, contact Todd Kindler and the Woodchuck Den. He can probably hook you up with a .50 BMG necked down to .20. http://1.bp.blogspot....

Re: Berger bullets for 6mmAI
Shooting a 243AI 1:9 twist and having excellent results with Sie70 and 95gr Match King bullets. Both are HPBT.Got into the 0s (barely),yesterday with the 95 and H4831sc seated 2.780.Don't know how they will perform on varmits yet.I did develop it for long range PDs. Also got excelent results with Spe...
