Re: Shooting in the field?
My last Praire Dog shoot (2010),I used A flolding bench (The Great Bench),no longer made, but it is not as handy as a Pivoting bench would be.This year ,my shooting parterner and I, will be shooting from SxS carts with a portable shooting table on the right side seat.Mine is a Club Car electric with ...

Re: MY NEW RIFLE
I love the looks and feel of thumbhole stocks.I have a hard time getting used to the accurigger. Some love them. Can't comment on the magazine,as my LRPV is a single shot.It should shoot the 39 SBKs well and maybe 40 VMax.Many powders will work.I had good results with Varget, but switched to IMR 8208 X...

Re: Still getting one flyer
If you can drop a bullet in a fired case without needing to apply some pressure you probably won`t see any gain from neck turning. Unless the assembled cartridge neck is closer then 0.003" of a fired case neck diameter you are wasting your time and probably causing more working of the necks du...

Re: neck tension
It should. The same as the expander button in the sizing die performs.I'm guessing you do this because you don't use the button in the die,to expand the neck.I don't do that, but it will give more consistan neck tension than just using a neck bushing without any kind of expansion. It's all about consis...

Re: Still getting one flyer
Don't get into neck turning, untill you have a custom barrel chambered. Why is that? Will neck turning not benefit the factory barrel shooter? I just installed a custom barrel. Does that mean I should now start turning the necks? In a factory chamber the neck may be .015 more than the loaded round,w...

Re: Still getting one flyer
Rooster For a no cost fix, just set aside the loaded rounds that seat harder. What you want is all the bullets to seat with the same feel. It's not precise, but better than mixing the tight ones with the others, that seat nice and smooth. Then folow up by checking the loaded necks with a caliper.Sorting b...

Re: Who's using Redding dies and what type?
Redding dies are top notch. The type S bushing die, neck, or FL, will bump the shoulder. In a bolt gun,you may be okay with the neck bushing die, however,it won't size the body,in which case they have a body die that sizes the body, slightly less than a FL die,and bumps the shoulder.I use that set up f...

Re: ACCURACY PROBLEM
I agree with Bill K,on the Contender. The new G2 frame is just the right size for the varmint cartridges, but the encore will work as well.Actions have been on Gunbroker from time to time for around $250-275.Add a custom barrel,,scopebase, and stocks, for a nice break open varmint rifle.I have a custom ...

Could be all you can get out of the gun.Do you have other guns like that one, in different calibers?.I have no information on that H&R.

Re: Lets talk overall legth....
Thanks for the quick reply Rick! The 39 grainers are getting shot out of an TC Encore Pro hunter so fitting a magazine wont be a problem. I'm going to try to load a few today and see what happens....Without knowing the dimensions of my rifles chamber, how much of an increase should I try? I was thi...

Re: Best Tool to hold onto Brass while Neck Turning
Do you mean the "T" handle case holder?Sinclair also has a locking case holder that takes Lee case holders, and works in a cordless drill.I have both, and only use the "T" handle when turning a few cases.(25).Look at the Forster trimmer with the neck turning attachment,fo something...
