discrepancy in load data
Can someone tell me why the 40 grain Hornady loads with H4895 here in the forum differ so much from Hodgdon's data?
Forum: 24.5 - 26.7
Hodgdon: 26.0 - 27.7C
I'm trying to extrapolate between 40 and 50 grain load data for my 45s, but this makes me a bit cautious.
Thanks.

- H335
- IMR 8208
TIA...

Re: Handloads saved my rifle
That's a great success story. How many variations did you experiment with before you found the load that works? I have a love/hate relationship with handloading. I enjoy doing it, but it's aggravating to experiment over and over and over, and not see any significant improvements over factory ammo. I...

Re: 204 For Problem Animal Controle
50 Kg? You'd be better served going after that size animal with a bigger bullet, IMO. I think the 243 is just about perfect.
I'm not a fan of using too much gun, but neither do I like the idea of using too little. A .204 on an animal that size is not the ideal cartridge.

Re: My AR keeps popping primers
I don't want to sound alarmist, but...this needs attention ASAP. It sounds like you have two separate issues. The gas block, and for that matter, the entire gas impingement system has no bearing on chamber pressure. Some match shooters completely disable the return gas, and just cycle their guns man...

Hodgdon and Berger 40 grains
I notice that Hodgdon doesn't list any loads for the Berger 40 grain bullet. Does anyone think I'd be unwise to just use the Hornady 40-grain data instead?

Re: anyone reload for fast-twist barrels?
Thanks for the detailed response, John. I don't have any Varget, but I do have H322, H335, IMR 8208 and Benchmark. My next pass will probably be the H335 or the 8208.

Re: first loads from new unfired brass
Hi all, I have finally got round to trying some new Nosler loads with Hornady unfired brand new cases. No problems just that I noticed that they seemed a little tighter than normal when opening the bolt. I was not near max loads. Could it be because they are opening up to my rifles chamber for the ...

Re: How to clean inside brass
To answer your question, you can look into the ultrasonic cleaners that have hit the market recently. From what I've heard, they're no different than any other ultrasonic cleaners, though the cleaning fluid might be.
Hornady makes one that looks nice, and I'm sure there are others.

anyone reload for fast-twist barrels?
Hi, all – I've just completed an AR-15 bench gun in .204 Ruger. I chose a Shilen barrel, which has a 1-9" twist rate. I specifically went with Shilen for the faster twist rate after a poor experience in a Ruger #1 with a 1-12" rate and heavier bullets. Anyone have any loads to share...

Re: AR15 Trigger solutions????
Do you want a single-stage or two-stage trigger? JP Rifles has just released a new single-stage trigger. They call it a drop-in though it's still a two-piece installation. I just installed mine (haven't shot it yet) and it feels fantastic. I also have a Jard and a Timney in single-stage, and a Rock ...

Hmm...20 rounders, eh? I neglected to mention that this will be for a pure bench gun. Do you have any trouble getting your 20-round magazines out without having to move the gun?

Thanks for the reply. I'm glad you answered; I was in fact thinking of the Pmags. Maybe I'll go with RRA instead.
