Re: I need help ordering a Pac-Nor for a Savage
Thanks Wrangler and Rio. I was sold several posts ago. :) Still considering barrel contour and length. 39 BK is the heaviest that I am planning on shooting in it. I got sidetracked while measuring old brass. Fired outside necks measure .228 to 2.33. New brass were a pretty consistent .233. Five time...

Re: I need help ordering a Pac-Nor for a Savage
Spent the afternoon measuring new, fired and resized brass. I understand what you meant about the web area. It will be interesting to compare them to brass shot from a tighter chamber.

Thanks for the explanation. I enjoy time spent prepping brass so new brass isn't a big deal.

Re: I need help ordering a Pac-Nor for a Savage
Don't forget to order new brass Hmmm... Didn't consider new brass. Not that I mind buying new. I have 1000 pieces of Winchester that mics out the right dimension loaded. I also have 500 Remingtons that are to thick to use without turning the necks. Was going to use the Remingtons for my other 204. ...

Re: I need help ordering a Pac-Nor for a Savage
I was leaning towards Shilen but was afraid it would have the long throat and sloppy chamber my factory barrel had. I've heard a lot of good things about Benchmark but can't find much information about them. Thanks for all that replied. Since I first visited this site less than a year ago I have acq...

I need help ordering a Pac-Nor for a Savage
Looking to upgrade the barrel on my Savage 204 w varmint contour barrel. I looked at Pac-Nor's site and am still not sure how to order. Rick mentioned that it was possible to get a shorter throat in his barrel. Any guidance would be appreciated. This is what I think I want. Pac-Nor 11 twist to shoot...

Re: Redding Bushing Size Survey
I have been using .226 with Winchester brass. It takes 18 lbs to push the bullet into the case. After reading what RIO said I might try the .225.

Re: Redding expander ball
Decapper nut came in the mail Thursday. Good customer service from Redding.
Sized 50 cases with new nut installed. Real smooth without the decapping ball. Necks are sized halfway down with a .226 bushing. It takes 18 pounds of pressure to push a seated bullet farther into the case.

32 BK hitting target sideways.
I have been loading 32 and 39 BKs. Both shoot well. I have had 3 out of approximately 500 of the 32s hit the target sideways. The loads are 32BK untrimmed Winchester brass with 27.6 Benchmark. They are seated to magazine length which is around .200 off the lands. This happened out of two different S...

Re: Redding expander ball
Called Redding and they said they would put one in the mail today.
I asked why they didn't put them in the .17 and .204 sets. The guy on the phone told me that they were so small they were a pain to make so they only sent them on request.

Re: Redding expander ball
Thanks for the reply. Looking at Redding's site it states "A decapping pin retainer is also supplied with most Type S - Bushing Dies except 17 and 20 Cal." I will take your advice and call them today.

Redding expander ball
I opened up my birthday present early. A Redding S FL and Comp Seating die. I have a few questions. It read here that you can remove the expander ball. The only way I see to do it is to remove the decapping pin and ball. I might be missing something here. Can you remove the ball only? I won't bring ...
