Re: .88" 3shot groups 500 yards???
Yeah true. I feel like a circus animal that jumps through hoops trying to get a new rifle. Recently in my state they have made it VERY difficult to get a rifle of the same calibre. You need to show the authorities just cause.

Re: Coated bullets
So I've jus done a bit of other research regarding this and this is what another gun forum user had to say about moly... "Molybdenum Disulfide contains sulfur free radicals that can become problematic when humidity increases or the bullets get wet. When they do, the sulfur acts as a corrosive a...

Re: .88" 3shot groups 500 yards???
Thanks for posting that Vid - it's sure to get a few views on YOUTUBE. Amazing shooting. The guy sounds like he might be ex army from by the way he speaks. Also, Those Tikka's are pretty sweet. I believe they are made by SAKO> Again, great video. Check out the others posted by the same guy - 1000 me...

Re: Loading for Accuracy Vs. Velocity
Again, all great information and definitely food for thought. I guess it will come down to pure economics and time - my shooting buddy is still getting set up for re-loading so I'm hoping I can do some development over a beer or two in his shed - however as I still only shoot a couple of hundred rou...

Re: Loading for Accuracy Vs. Velocity
Thanks again all. I do find this topic really interesting though. Last weekend (after mounting my new Leupold VX-3L 6.5-20) I shot some factory ammo at 100 yards which grouped at 0.6 of an inch for 5 shots. This to me raises an interesting point - this type of accuracy is still good for 300 yard sho...

Re: Remington 700 LVSF .204
I tested the 39gn Sierra's in the Federal Factory load in my Savage VLP on the weekend. My 5 shot group was 0.6 of an inch (sorry to all of you imperial experts) at 100yards. Try the 39's. Most seem to get great results.

Re: need help deciding on a new 204....
Dowpet, I have a Savage model 12 LRPV - it handles well, looks nice and has a fantastic trigger. It is NOT a light rifle however - especially by the time you have topped it off with a quality scope. I use it for shooting from a bench, car bonnet or similar. It is not really a walk around rifle. Fred...

Re: Loading for Accuracy Vs. Velocity
Joe O. Mate, if I can get my rifle to shoot consistent 0.5inch groups with my new scope and factory loads then I don't even think I will bother going down the hand loading road. 0.333 is pretty amazing out of the box! Can you however point me in the direction of a drop table - is it the same as what...

Re: Maximum Point Blank Range for factory Federa 39gn?
Thanks Joe O. I have the fine duplex on my Leupold. Unfortunately living in Australia I don't have the luxury of being able to call Sierra - which is partly why I rely on these posts and other web pages so heavily. I guess what I really need to know is what my point of impact will be for 100,200,300...

Loading for Accuracy Vs. Velocity
Hi All. Firstly, great forum - amazing amount of information posted. I want to get into hand loading my .204. However I am curious about the trade off regarding loading for accuracy vs. velocity. With regard to the factory Federal load containg the Sierra 39grn pill - it is suggest that for a scope ...

Maximum Point Blank Range for factory Federa 39gn?
Hi, Can anyone please tell me the MPBR for the factory federal 39gn sierra pill? I am shooting a Savage model 12 LRPV with a Leupold VX3L 6.5-20 x 56. over medium rise Leupold mounts. Ballistics data from the Federal website suggest that for a 200yd zero I should be +0.8 at 100yds which will make me...
