Re: Another win for us...

Well, win some, lose some. Yesterday I visited the Bonneville Hydro and lock facility and the very nice, even appologetic man in the guard house insisted on inspecting my trunk, looking for Firearms and other contraband. Now in these times I don't blame them one bit. "It is a federal facility y...

Re: Forster press

Rick, I looked at the Sinclair site. It said that it works with the Redding Competition dies. Is that not the case. BJ Forster is fully aware of the lack of arch clearance in the Model B-1 press. This meant that for certain long magnum dies, the handle would not clear the dies. So they came out wit...

Re: .204 with Leupold varmint reticle

I also have that reticle in seven different rifle scopes, and can say the only way to really get full use out of yours is to take it afield, zero it at 200 yards with the center reticle intersection, then shoot at various distances to see where YOUR loads cross the other hash marks. You may have to...

Re: Forster press

The thing about the forester Co-Ax press is called compliance. This is the ability of the die and the shell case to line up. X axis compliance is in the shell holder movement and y axis compliance is in the die holder. No other press that I know of does that. Then you have to go to the best die you ...

Re: Hunt wish list?

Frankly, all that above makes me feel a little silly. But I know how you feel. All I can think about is prairie dogs and squirrels. Now consider this. 2000 live targets on the field when you arrive, 5000 when you leave. Thats after shooting 1000 or more rounds. Sunny weather, cool breeze. No humping...

Re: Finely got one with my Rem. LVSF

Any of you wishing to witness the effectiveness of the .204 on small game put a varmint simulator (20 oz soda bottle filed with water) out at your favorite range distance and hammer it. That should convince you of it's performance. It does me. You can add a half dozen drops of red food coloring to t...

Re: 7mm SAUM Rifles

Several years back I bought a Winchester M70 CFA in .300 WSM and ripped the stock and barrel off it. Then I had the accomplished Riflesmith Mr. Freudenberg of Everett fit a 26" 7mm 3 groove Lilja and McMillan A-5 stock, along with a Jewel match trigger set at 1#. http://www.ar10t.com/components...

Re: My 1st Wildcat

My opinion wildcats are something developed by riflemen to drive their competitors nuts. "Oh, don't you wish you had a .204-5.6AI like I do. Watch, I'll give you a little demonstration on how well it shoots." I have two wild cats, a former one and a future one. The former one is the 6.5-30...

Re: PD scope

This is Critter (Dave) having his way with Skippy using one of his excellent USO scopes on his M700. (I give him a hard time, but he's okay, just no sense of 'balance'. ;) http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g66/packrat1/P5120932.jpg Sorry for the thread deviation, just couldn't stay quiet...... Re: Optics comparisons

I'm not very familier with the Bushnell, Nightforce, USO or IOR lines. HTH, The following are not my words, but who am I to disagree. It amazes me how so many qualified individuals can look at the same art and come up with different conclusions. I personally don't have a dog in the fight as my pers...

Re: PD scope

Now what you definitely do not want is the USO varmint scope shown here: This thing is a 6.5-30 x 58 with a 35mm tube and lit Mil-Dot reticle. Shown here shooting PDs on the Big Montana Reservation, a number of years back. John Williams III built this totally custom scope for me, at his fathers dire...

Re: Optics comparisons

I am pleased to see US Optics mentioned and in some very good company.

Most people have never seen one. Here are a couple of examples:

SN-3 1.8-10x44 and SN-12 3.5x

Re: My old Winchester

You just can't buy that kind of quality today!

Seems you also can't keep the rifleman away from the range either, even when the white stuff proliferates!
