Hmmm... Is there a gap between the shellholder and bottom of the die when you have a case all the way in the die? If so, need to adjust die down some more. If it is contacting the shellholder, I would take some material off of the shell holder. I agree 100%....taking a few thou off the bump die bas...

I shoot and reload a lot of .204's. To correct runout I fabricated the following:

it doesn't have anything cutter actually extending INTO the hole. The reason many (including me) much prefer the K&M or Sinclair (new model), because it bevels the flash hole, removing burrs, but also drills it out if needed to the uniform flash hole diameter. I use the k&M for the same rea...

agreed on all points.'Lots of variables here... I have been noticing as I search around that the die/shellholder/ram interface can be a touchy issue as you've said. I think it requires investigation, because my other ducks seem to be lined up. huge.. That's for sure. I know that it is a lot of work...

acloco, Thanks for the test data. That is something I always to do. I was surprised the CCI 400 preformed better than the 205M's.

I have been following your threads on .204 runout and accuracy as I have the same savage rifle and caliper. I eliminate half of my runout by using a Lee collet die but; I was still getting between .002" and .005" runout. I believe that it is due to my seater die and I have tried both a Lee...
