Re: Decapping die?
I use a Redding decapping die with the small rod. Use it for all of my cases. Removed the pin from all of my sizing dies. I like to check/clean primer pockets then tumble before sizing. Not the only way to go about it but, that's how I do it.

Re: brass options
I agree with Duker. Norma/Nosler should put you into some real nice 204R brass. All of mine is WW and about eight or nine years old. It's been, and still is, great. However, most everything I have heard about WW 204R brass in the last two years has led me to believe that the quality has become much ...

Re: bullet seating question (Lee dies)
I have two thoughts to share. The second one is not meant to hurt anyone's feelings, just my own opinion based on my own experiences. 1. Annealing is always a good thing. It prevents split necks and enhances accuracy by promoting more even tension. While machines are faster and more convenient, they...

Re: LTB Bushing
Varmint Shooter, I have Redding regular and coated bushings. Nothing wrong with them. I also have bushings from CRT that Brad has designed and given you a link to in the above post. All of my future bushing purchases will be from Brad. My own opinion is that they are super smooth and size a tad clos...

Re: consistent groups and "hold"
Sorry again. This is beyond my pea brain capacity. The only way I can post pictures is to send them to someone else with my phone and beg for help. Gave up a few years ago, it just never 'clicked' for me. The guys who posts pictures on here will tell you it's simple. Don't ever trust them...

Re: OUTSIDE NECK TURNING?
The individual who I had hoped would post on this must be out on a Skippy Safari. It is that time of year!

The K&M case holder
Sounds like Del has you lined out. I will share what comes to mind, the differences are mainly due to using tools from a different manufacturer. Lube: I always used Sinclair Neck Turning Lube and liked it. This last Winter I was running low and feeling cheap so I asked what other guys were using and...

Re: Bullet weight
Love my beam scales! What one are you using? Make sure your knife edges and bearings are squeaky clean. I use Q-Tips and starting fluid. Using a loupe is a handy way to inspect the knife edges for burrs and dings.

Re: Bullet weight
If you can't beg, borrow or steal (not recommended) a bona fide check weight, grab your bullet and head to town. A lab, pharmacy or dentist office should be able to weigh it for you in grams or milligrams. Ask them NOT to round the weight off. One gram=15.4324 grains.

Re: Hand held priming unit
Absolutely love my Sinclair hand priming tool. Feels good in the hand, superb craftsmanship. Excellent tactile feedback, you can feel the primer enter the pocket and feel when it contacts the bottom. Adjustable and lockable for seating depth, as well. Some may not care for the fact that it is single...

Re: Trimming brass
Measure your chamber length and trim a couple thousandths shorter than that. Published 'trim-to' length is most likely shorter than needed.

Re: ? for Advanced Reloaders
My approach is pretty much the same as what the others are saying. Pick a bullet based on intended purpose. I use two different bullets in my 204R, one for rodents and a different one for predators. If you have a 20 caliber with a 1:12 twist, avoid the 40 grain V-Max. It may work but, the odds are n...

futuretrades: I hope your correct about Leupold being made in the USA. I've read several articles that say Leupold is now getting their glass from China have some parts made outside the US. I just bought a Leupold 8.5x25x50 LR VHR for around 900.00 and it came with a large Leupold window sticker th...

Re: Case trimmer
I too, am a fan of the Wilson/Sinclair system. You can make your own stand and retainer to save a few bucks. FWIW, I would not be afraid of buying a used trimmer for a fair price. Cutters can be sharpened and/or replaced. I would look at Wilson, Forster and Redding. Best of luck, I understand all to...

RJ, if you are East of the Cascades, never, ever, curse the mud. Nothing more precious out here than moisture. Of course, if you are on the West side, can't do anything for you except offer my condolences. I am east and its slicker than snot. Luckily we still have a good amount of snow in th...
