yet another stuck case
This is number 3. I have been tumbling all of my cases to remove any residues or dirts and using imperial sizing wax on the outside and a little bit on the inside of the neck as well. I have no idea why these cases keep getting stuck. This one is in an RCBS full length sizer and the previous one was...

Here it is guys! All finished up with setting up the Cooper. Here are a couple pics of it while I was starting to break it in today.

Re: Range Results: 40gr Bullets in my 11 Twist 204
I'm tempted to get a Lilja barrel on my M77MKII. I like using the 39 SBK's so should I get an 11 or 12 twist? I ended up getting decent groups with this rifle with the stock target barrel, but the only problem is to get good groups I have to load it at least .5 grains under min. And by doing that I'...

Thanks Rick! I can always count on u and the other guru's for guidance! The last thing I wanted to do was break my first, brand new, Cooper.

Cleaning a Cooper
Hey guys, I'm going to attempt to drive home this weekend and mount my scope and shoot my Cooper for the first time. I got the Lucas bore guide and the Dewey coated rod and the nylon bore brush. Once I pass the brush through the barrel, should I pass it back through the other way toward the chamber?...

Re: prairie dog trip
Have any of you guys ever heard of Buffalo Butte Ranch in SD or ever been there? I've been looking into it and it sounds like a great place for a pretty good price for everything that you get, especially for my first time going out west.

Re: Advice on a new budget gun please
just throwin my .02 in here, but the leupolds are worth it. I originally bought a Simmons for my M77 204. I couldn't get the gun to stay consistant. So i put a Leupold on it and it is consistant as can be. Ya, a Simmons is 200 or less and a Leupold is quite a bit more but you definitely get what u p...

Re: M77 Mark II Stainless – First Reloads
no, i've only done 40 grain nosler BT's and 39SBK. I bought some 32SBK but haven't touched em yet. The 39SBK's showed a world of difference over the 40 Noslers. If you go under min do it in increments. Start at .5 over min, min, and then do .3 grain decrements. Like I said, yours may be different bu...

Re: M77 Mark II Stainless – First Reloads
I also have a M77 MKII but mine is the target model. Your groups sound pretty similar to mine though. What I found out (regardless of bullet or powder) was that my rifle liked lighter powder loads. So I have been loading them around min or slightly under min. Consistently gives groups under 1/2"...

prairie dog trip
Hey guys, I'm planning on going on a prairie dog trip in June of 2011. I'm looking for some info on which state (I was thinking of South Dakota or Kansas.) I live in PA so regardless it's gonna be a long drive. Also, should I get a guided trip? Like I said, any information at all will be GREATLY app...

Re: Cooper model 21 or others?
Do you guys recommend using a nylon brush or the standard bronze brush to clean out the Cooper barrel? Also, I noticed Coopers instructions for breaking in the barrel in their manual. Is there anything else I should do other than what they said? Cleaning after every shot seems a bit excessive.

Re: Cooper model 21 or others?
Rifle came in early so of course I had to go pick it up and drool over it. Here it is!
