Re: barrel for my 10/22
I decided on the Green Mountain 18" SS Fluted Bull Barrel. I haven't odered it yet because I'm still trying to find the best price. So far Gunkings has it (in stock) with free shipping at $131. I'm still undecided on the stock though. I was considering the Hogue Overmolded .920" black stoc...

barrel for my 10/22
Hey guys! I know this has been addressed before, but I've seen to many variances in responses for my liking. I've looked on other forums as well. A lot of people like the Adams & Bennet/Green Mountain (GM) barrels but I was thinking of going with a Lilja or Shilen. However the Lilja is a great d...

proper drop for a 32 grain Blitking?
Hey guys, I've been tinkering around trying to figure out how much these 32 SBK's drop at different yardages. At 100 yards it is set at approx .5" high of bullseye. When I shot at 200 yards, it was .5" low and at 300 yards it was about 4 inches low. Does this sound about right? Or should I...

Re: Reloading HK USP 45 issues
Well, went out and shot 12 shots with the HK and these newly loaded rounds. I put 10 of them in 1 inch group and had 2 wingers. I think I found a nice load!

Re: Reloading HK USP 45 issues
Loaded up 10 rounds this morning with the taper crimp. Had SLIGHT flattening of the tip but nothing major. To fix that I guess I can't seat and crimp at the same time. But it's not enough to make me buy a seperate die. Shot 6 and all fed and cycled flawlessly. Thanks guys!

Re: Reloading HK USP 45 issues
Well, I tried the taper crimp with the current seating depth of 1.270 OAL and still no luck with feeding. So, I set the seating depth to 1.200 without a crimp and it feeds smooth as silk. The way the XTP's are formed, they have a flat wall and then taper a bit later to form the round head in compari...

Re: Reloading HK USP 45 issues
Thanks guys! I loaded up a couple more rounds this morning and will be out of town til tomorrow morning, so I will see how these feed after adjusting the taper crimp when I'm back home

Reloading HK USP 45 issues
This is my first attempt at reloading for a handgun. I have an HK USP 45 tactical and it shoots very well and usually will cycle pretty much anything and everything. I decided to start reloading for it and stockpile a bunch of ammo. I have started with Federal brass, RCBS carbide dies, CCI primers, ...

Re: Cooper owners
I'm using Benchmark with 32 SBK's in my Cooper. It is grouping quite well with .25" groups. I already bought a pound of H335 so I am going to try a few with that one and see what happens.

Re: STUCK CASE
The only other suggestion I have for you is Imperial sizing wax. I was always sold on the RCBS lube, but once I started using Imperial, it really is the best stuff around. I've had 3 stuck cases with 204. One within the first 10 cases through the die and the others after hundreds of cases through th...

Re: STUCK CASE
First off, which die are you using? I had a bunch that got stuck in the RCBS dies. The reason they got stuck is because when you adjust the decapping assembly for first use it is "centered" by gravity. Which means if you are holding it off to the side, it will be secured off center and whe...

Re: 1st hogs of the year for me
I was using factory 32 grain V-max and was shooting off of a fence post. Maybe with all this nice weather we're having I can start tryin my reloads out again!

1st hogs of the year for me
Finally was able to get the first kills for the Cooper! This one was taken at 270 yards http://i857.photobucket.com/albums/ab139/jdefranc938/0403101439a.jpg and this one was taken at 330 yards http://i857.photobucket.com/albums/ab139/jdefranc938/0403101547a.jpg I had one more at 200 yards but I didn...
