Re: Cooper model 21 or others?
To keep you guys updated: The Cooper should be at my FFL by Tuesday, and I ordered my scope today as well. I decided on the Leupold VX-3 6.5-20x40 LR with varmint reticle. The anticipation is KILLIN me

case length
Hey guys, When I get my virgin brass I try to trim the necks to 1.840". After a firing or 2, the case length is between 1.844 and 1.859. If I retrim it to 1.840 and refire it, it continues to elongate after each firing. I understand this is normal to a degree. But should I always be retrimming ...

Re: Cooper model 21 or others?
Well, I went with the Cooper. It's the model 21 with 26" stainless fluted barrel. Can't wait for it to come in! Now to decide which scope I should put on... :chin: Congrats! Did you order it from Cooper or did someone have that particular rifle in stock? I found a dealer that had it, new, in s...

seater die incorrect?
hey guys! I'm havin some issues when I seat the bullets. Everything appears to be fine after sizing but when I go to seat the bullet it appears that the seater is affecting the shoulder significantly when compared to an seated case. There is a SLIGHT bulge where the shoulder meets the body (after se...

Re: Cooper model 21 or others?
How does the Sako compare to the Cooper though? I can get the Sako 85 for about 1750 and the Cooper 21 for about 1500

Re: Cooper model 21 or others?
Thanks guys! That's exactly what I've been hearing from everyone. I'm probably gonna get the Cooper. I had the chance to hold one last night and it felt perfect. I agree, the Savage felt like club although I've heard they're VERY accurate. I already have a 204 in Ruger M77 MKII Target so I have a ri...

Cooper model 21 or others?
I am looking at buying my 2nd 204. I am very interested in a Cooper Model 21 Varminter. I also have had my eye on the CZ 527, and Savage 12 BGTV. Any info or input on which model is better and y would be appreciated. From what I've found so far, I will be happy with any of these rifles.

glass bed and free floating barrel?
Hey guys,
I have the Ruger M77 MKII Target in 204 and I'm throwin around the idea of getting it glass bedded and then having the barrel free floating. Any input/experiences (good or bad) will be much appreciated. If I get this done, how much of a change can I expect in precision?

Re: Redding Die FL sizing?
Well, I have the good ole RCBS case lube and i have the Hornady One shot spray stuff (haven't used it yet though). I did disassemble the die and remove all the packing grease. If you could walk me through the headspace determination, that would be great!

Redding Die FL sizing?
Hey guys, I had an RCBS die but it apparently wasn't put together correctly from the factory and the spindle was cross-threaded onto the shaft. The splindle then literally exploded. This is what I determined to be my whole issue from all the other posts I put up before. Anyway, I bought a bran...

39 grain blitzking and BLC-2 powder
Hey guys, I am trying to get a load worked out with my 39 gr. blitzkings because I couldn't get anything to work with the 40 gr. Noslers. I can't find any load data for the 39 gr blitzkings with the BLC-2 powder. I also have Varget and H322. If anyone has any input on what works best for them (39 bl...

Re: First day with H&R ultra varmint 204, a little disappointing
Ya I agree. It took me about 10 different loads with several different powders and I finally got mine to shoot hole for hole. However, now I'm just fightin with the brass. Make sure everything you do is consistent and eliminate all controllable variables. From what I've seen and read, the 204 is a p...

Re: Win brass?
Hey guys, I'm usin winchester brass for my 204 as well. I started to post this in another thread but since this one deals with winchester brass, i thought i would put it here too. So, my group with fired brass is under 1/4". But the group with unfired winchester brass is around 3". I know ...

Re: Will unfired brass change accuracy/grouping?
Well, from everything that has been said, is it a good possibility that my much enlarged group from firing brand new brass is from the headspacing? If I fire the exact same brass again that were previously unfired, i get an amazing group.
