Which Forster Bushing for resizing Nosler brass?

Hi have a Forster die which came with .224, .226 and .228 bushings. Resizing with .226 and .228 left too much slop in the neck which leaves me with one other choice, the .224. Was wondering if anyone else had the same setup and brass as me, and what bushing they end up using. I'm wondering if I shou...

Experience with TAC for 39 SBKs

Not sure if looking at data for 40 grain bullets is wise; wondering if anyone has shot this bullet with TAC. Bonus if you have a Remington model 700 26" barrel. I have some XBR8208 and plan to try some but I have a boatload of TAC. Would appreciate some input.

Re: TAC loads

Would it be reasonable to use 40g vmax data for 39 SBKs? Looking for TAC data for 39 Sierras....

Re: best loads for the 204

My 204's like the the following recipes; 39 SBK, Reloader-15, Remington 7 1/2 primer, REM case 39 SBK, H4895, Remington 7 1/2 primer, REM case 39 SBK, IMR8208-XBR, Remington 7 1/2 primer, REM case. HTH Jim, what load ranges do you use for 39SBK with XBR 8208? Finally got my SBKs in after a 5 month ...

Re: Using the Hornady Comparitor

Just an aside.......... Got my comparator out last week for the First time for my Remy 700. To seat my 35 g Bergers into the lands requires the bullet to be completely out of the neck with about .030 gap. So like everyone else I'll put my comparator away and go OAL, which as close as I can tell is a...

distance from lands with my new 700

Finally got my rifle back from my gunsmith and got my comparator gauge out to check out my chamber. Using 35g Bergers, I would have to seat my bullets approx -0.030 into the case to touch the lands. That's right, the bullet has to be out of the case to reach. As close as I can tell my factory rounds...

Re: Am I on track with this scope purchase?

Funny thing; called an old friend on my way to pick up this scope and caught him at our local gun shop. He told me the same thing one of you guys said: he sometimes tries to go out to 20x with his scope but then usually backs off to 18. He persuaded me to change course, come back and take a look at ...

Am I on track with this scope purchase?

Just finished getting my new Remington 700 .204 restocked and bedded. Looking for glass for it now; intended use will be PD shooting and paper. This is a new venture for me so I'd appreciate insights. I was thinking $500 for my scope budget and was narrowing down into the 6-20 x 40 type scopes but I...

Re: Do you try to kiss the lands,

All of my barrels have short throats just so I can jam into the lands at least .010. Everything I shoot (except my gas guns) starts off with the bullets jammed into the lands. You can always go shorter. And I single feed so I don't have to think about mag length. Mike are any of your barrels factor...

Re: Do you try to kiss the lands,

The Hornady comparator tool is a valuable piece of equipment. You can indeed keep track of throat erosion and also know exactly how far you are from the lands. I use mine for over 30 rifles. If your 204 Ruger has a factory barrel, with the obligatory SAAMI-cut chamber, it's doubtful you'll ever rea...

Do you try to kiss the lands,

or just load to maximum COAL? I'm mostly wondering about those of you with Comparators. I see mixed answers and some of them are old when I research this. Many have either given up trying or note that they can only get within 0.185" from the lands if they bother checking with their comparator. ...

Re: 39g Blitzkings backordered.... now what?

Bergers have the capability of being the most accurate bullet available. Wether or not you find the magic is up to you and your gun. Usually my Savage tubes preferred the 35's. This one liked the 40's quite a bit. Last five shots of load development at 200yds. No more tweaking required. They have t...
