Re: Bug Holes
I reckon if they are touching then its one hole. Doesnt matter how big a hole, there is a bug that will fit it somewhere!!

Re: starting to reload .204 have a few ?'s
I shot LRBR for short time (at a mediocre level). Bushing neck dies and sleeved seaters are manadatory for thoes guys so I took my analness to my varmint rifles. Forster's sleeved seater is as good as reddings and cheaper. I have both. Some of the guys that used to be on here had the knowledge and e...

Re: 1:10 twist for .204 help
I got a 1 in ten as my factory 204 would not stabilise the 40 vm and the 40 vm is a lot cheaper then the 39sbk. It works very well and as I have a supply of 39sbk for my other 20cal I have tried both. same load, same POI

Re: Aussie! Aussie! Aussie!
well I feel like a newbie since I havent been on here for ages. i learned to load ammo on this site and the 204 started the accuracy bug that caused my credit card to melt! I even invented my own 20cal (well sort of) as the 204 made my 223 completely redundant (just back to an earlier post, on my on...

Re: Aussie rounds hit USA
Aussie outback label - for U.S. ? If anyone else can see the method in their madness I'm willing to listen, but I reckon marketing had a bad day when this was designed. The .223 round is suited to coyotes? - I'm yet to see one here Hmm, if they are making the ammo for the us market you are not gonn...

Re: need help deciding on a new 204....
when I first joined this forum I had a ruger VT in 204. This was its best group http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i131/trelee/100_0003.jpg This cost me lots and lots and lots of money as it sent me off on the custom gun quest looking for rifles that did that everytime. I dont think mine was exceptio...

Re: hi guys new member needing some info on the 204.
my 1 in 10 26 inch 204 shoots the 40 vm with 27.1 of 2206h (repckaged and sold in US as H4895) but re testing loads and I'm putting the charge up to 27.3. Norma brass rem 7 1/2 br primer (going back to rem brass when this wears out) Velocity at 27.1 (prior load) was 3830. My Tac 20 variant 24 inch 1...

Re: A New 20 cal round
If you are interested in the 20s check out saubier.com. Lots of good info over there. If you want a 20x47L build one. I have a couple of 20brs pushing 55 Bergers at 3580. Very impressive in the prairie dog fields. I am thinking what to sell to raise the coin to put a 1 in 9 on my VLP and chambering...

just checkin in
I've been absent for a while from this fine forum so I thought I would post a few photos. This is my version of a Tac 20 (the smith didnt have a tac 20 reamer). I posted on ausvarmint asking if it was different enough from a tac20 to have its own name. When a mate said "its Just Another Bloody ...

Re: .204 lothar walter barrel ??
Paddy, not sure how far out he was, there were a lot of bunnies pasted that day. i'm guessing around 100m as i'm too lazy to walk further. Mine has a Kreiger barrel, shoot the 40s and 39s equally well to the same poi with the same powder charge. Since the sbk is now nearly double the price of the vm...

Re: .204 lothar walter barrel ??
they are a top quality euro barrel at least the equivalent of the top American makes but just cos its a match grade barrel doesnt mean you'll get a better result. The 1 in 12 is marginal for the 40gn so it may work or it may not. I waited 14 months for a 1 in 10 twist barrel to get here from the sta...

Re: .223 AI???
only going sligthly off topic, but has amyone stuck a reamer in long enough to chamber a version of the 223 ackley with 204 brass. It has some appeal to me though I really really feel like a hotrod 22 on the 6.5x47 L case, but thats a whole other story!

Darknight you havent reached max for your rifle till you have presure signs I suppose! But here is some info for you The Hodgdon powder you are using is made in Australia by Australian Defence Industries (now owned by a French company  called THALES) imported to US and repackaged. It is sold h...
