well just since you asked! on our wedding day, they always look good that day dont they! http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i131/trelee/120-1.jpg And in the butts at the 1000yd. Marriage seems to agree with us as evidenced by the extra pounds. I reckon she looks even better but then I am biased http:...

Re: a pretty girls gun
we've run in the barrel and done a few ladder tests using 105 scenars, 1 in 8 twist for 500m fly and 1000yard br. I have a BAT actioned 6.5x284 and was starting to get serious about it before we married but we have 8 kids between us and I dont get time to practice. Only manage to get to 2 big shoots...

Re: New Barrel for my sweet lil' .204
I've got a few Lilja's and love the rifles they are on. My 204 has a kreiger and my 20 cal wildcat has a Shilen. All the research I've done and opinion I've solicited is that there is not a whole lot of difference between any of the custom barrel makers

Re: Soliciting opinions....
I know you've already bought but when good quality brass is mentioned and 6mm in the same sentence someone just has to mention 6x47 Lapua. Just had one built on a Savage target action for the wife (its so much better the second time round) to compete at 500m fly competitions. She's a brand new shoot...

enough gun?
an early morning stroll was unproductive apart from the sheer pleasure of being in the country and not behind a desk. Going up and down the hills had me reconsidering the wisdom of ordering the truck axle krieger barrel. Coming round the final gully entrance that I would have to ascend to get back t...

Re: .223wssm/.243wssm
I bought one of each, sold the 223 version without firing it (the half price thing got me). The 243 version was the browning varmint stalker. I did get a very accurate 70nbt load but the fat cases never fed well and even though there was heaps of space to the lands, if you seated the projies out the...

Re: 1:10 twist?
when i started hanging round here some rifles shot 40s, some didnt and it was "diagnosed" as 1 in 12 being the margin of stabilising a 40. So if your barrel was supposed to be 1 in 12 but was actually slightly slower then it was 39s for you. I ordered a 1 in 10 for my second one specifical...

Re: Rifling twist question
theres a post on our local board about savages new releases for 2008. the author mentioned a 1 in 7 twist 204. i told him to double check (too lazy myself) as I didnt think a bullet existed that could need that twist
