Re: Sierra 39 Blitz King
Have a 17 Rem that is a very good shooter! 1-9 T Thought the 30 gr Bergers would be a good long range bullet for groundhogs! Started load workup, bullets weren't getting to the target!! Berger advised twist would need to be 1-7 to stabilize the 30 gr!! Scraped that idea!! That said, all 3 of my 204'...

Re: New to 204 R

I have since switched to H335 due to RL15 bridging in the Dillon powder die assy. These new loads shoot just as wel...

Re: New to 204 R
Have shot several powders but RL 15 does very well, but will not flow through my Dillon easly so have gone to a ball powder, not sure which H335 or 844, maybe BLC-2 would need to check my notes! In testing loads in my 1st 204 I shot 2230, 4895, RL-15, 844, BLC-2, H335 worse group was 3/4 inch! Have ...

Re: .204 Ammo????
Yep hornady 32 grain is where id start with 1 in 12 twist.40 grain is tad heavy for it but dont discount it I am wondering where the info about 40grs not liking 1-12 twist barrels comes from?? I have shot them on paper with all 3 of my 1-12 twist barrels and all 3 shoot a ragged hole at 100 yrds! T...

Anytime you change primers you need to revisit the accuracy of your load!! Primer changes will effect the load!!

Re: .204 40gr. Nosler BT vs Hornady 40gr vmax
Have shot very few Nosler and Vmax, started with the 39 gr Sierra and have had no reason to change! Mostly groundhogs and prairie dogs! They do not exit the groundhogs!! You know the results on prairie dogs!! :>)

Re: new here with question about 8208 xbr powder
I have three different rifles in 204 all have the 12 twist and all three shoot the same loads using 4895, H335,RL15, and mil 844!! group sizes range from .437 to .289!! Bullets are Sierras 39 gr, 40 gr Vmax!! Am very hard pressed to believe that the 12 twist is too slow for this weight bullets!! My ...

Re: WTB Once fired 204 brass
If you expect to shoot a one hole group then you should dedicate your brass to the gun--if you are happy with under 3/4 inch groups then you can use once fired as long as you have a good set of dies---all of my varmint rifles in 223 shoot 3/4 inch or less with once fired LC brass.
