Re: Launch or disintegration?
all I have to shoot out west are the small Belding ground squirrels and when they are hit with a .204 they do both the launch and disintegration.

Re: shooting bench
I also have a RCBS RASS bench. it is bulky and heavy and takes some time to set up but once it is set up and leveled what a great bench! I can tilt 20 degrees up and down and swivel 360 degrees. I started taking small 12x12 pieces of plywood to set up under each adjustable foot pad so it won't dig i...

Cooling Your Rifle's Barrel
How do you guys cool your barrel when the action gets hot n heavy? switch to another rifle? water soaked towels on the barrel? how hot do you let the barrel get before letting it cool? if it is too hot to comfortably touch? I cannot wait for the next Belding squeak season! I bought a Thompson Conten...

Re: Just got Married!!!.........3 Months ago!
congratulations, your bride is beautiful!
are you two either very tall or are those doors behind you in your first picture smaller than the standard size (or maybe it was a cabinet)?
nice Ruger .22 pistol too! my son wants one for his 21st birthday.

Re: SR-22
hmmm...........tried several searches and could not find it. could you tell me the member's forum name so I try finding it that way please?Rick in Oregon wrote:If you search the rimfire forum, you'll see a happy report from one of our forum buddies who got one recently (he's in Idaho)........
Re: SR-22
My local fun (gun) shop has one and it looks like a 10/22 in wolf's clothing! Kind of pricey though, if I remember correctly it was $489. You can acheive almost the same effect if you already own a 10/22 by getting a kit called the archangle which sell for $199. Gary I don't presently own a .22 rif...
SR-22
Anyone get one yet? went to a local gun store and they did not have any but said they have one on the way.

Re: Ruger 77/17HMR
I have one that I use for a under 100 yard squeak shooter. can't remember offhand what the groupings were like but it will easily take head shots at squeaks under 100 yards until it gets windy then I switch to a .204 Ruger M77 Mkll. both rifles have Bushnell Elite 4200 scopes.

Re: Remmington 40 GR accu tips
I used them when it got windy, they seemed to do ok out of my Ruger Mkll. never tried them target shooting to see just how accurate they are. seemed to have good splatter factor on squeaks........YMMV

Re: PD Trip 8-9-09 - LOTS of pictures
I use snake tongs to grab any dead squeaks out of their hole or to move them into a better pose for pictures. nice to have the tongs in rattlesnake country too!

great post and pictures Silverfox!
I also don't like people shooting in the same field I am in. two trips ago there were people with 10/22's drinking beer in the field, I went as far as I could to the other end of the field. I usually try to take week day trips so there will be no one else around.
