Re: Die Question
Well I just got off the phone with one of the great tecs at Redding. He knew exactly what was going on. Seems I figured it out already. Reddings neck bushing dies "do not" (at least for 204) go all the way to the shoulder. He said it goes about 90 % of the way down the neck. His answer was...

Die Question
Ok for the last 40 years have just used standard dies. Time to move up in the world so decided to move up to bushing dies so I can turn the necks. Bought Redding die (type s for .204) and the bushings to get the job done...sort of. So to turn the necks first I need to resize the necks and I'm assumi...

Re: 204 Cleaning Ritual
I fired off an e-mail to Sinclair, here was the response to the book. Thanks for the email! Actually, the last printing of the book now unavailable and out of print, was the "Book 10". However Book 11 is in the final stages of editing and proofing, and we hope to have it released in early ...

Re: 204 Cleaning Ritual
Good evening
Rick in Oregon mention in a post above about a book call "Precision Shooting and Handloading".
I have searched high and low and have not been able to find either an old version or a new one.
Any idea where to get one would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance
Mark

Re: AR project
When I talked to Shilen they said they do not make a 26" ar barrel. My concern at the time was the fact that some 1:12 guns do not shoot 40 grain. I think that the extra 2" (26" barrel vs 24") may be why some do and some do not. Shilen told me $75.00 less if I supplied my own bolt.

Re: AR project
I supplied my own bolt and I believe it was $375.00. I had one of the Shilen barrels on order with Midway for 2 months and then they went on backorder again for another 2 months. Shilen said they were having problems getting bolts so I sent them mine. That's when I found out I could get a 1:10 direct.

Re: AR project
I have been waiting now 6 weeks for a 1:10 direct from Shilen.
Hope to see it any day as they said 6-8 weeks when I ordered.

Re: Which scope for AR .204???
I myself am building an ar-15 204 ruger. Have a AR-X Enterprises side bolt upper, a Tactical Innovations lower, geissele trigger and a magpul prs stock. Now I'm just waiting for my Shilen barrel to get here (another month they say). I just yesterday got a Burris Xtreme Tactical 6X-24X-50mm and a Bur...

Re: hornady 40 gr. v-max questions
My boys and I shoot Remington 700 SPS Varmit and have settled on the 40 grain Hornady v max. We are using 25.6 grains of reloader 15, CCI 400 primers and overall length of 2.26".

Re: A couple case prep questions...
There was another thread going on this subject just the other day. I decided on the K & M precision shooting flash hole unifier: http://www.kmshooting.com/catalog/flash-hole-uniformer-tools/flash-hole-uniformer_master-cal_19_20.html and the K & M small rifle/pistol primer correction tool: ht...

Re: AR project
I called Shilen this morning just to double check if they could do a 1:12 twist 26" barrel, which I'm 99% sure would shot 40 grainers, but no luck.
So I guess we will wait for the 1:10 twist 24" and hope it will work.
