Re: Cold day in AB produces!

Nice work! What calibers are the rifles (obviously, one's a 204)? I'm going to guess the stainless one is a Tikka and the blued one is a Remington SPS Varmint; am I close?

Re: I like my new Sako!

Welcome to the forums, and congratulations on a nice rifle, and the good shooting! I can't exactly answer your question about the turrets, but I believe the distance per click for a scope is measured at 100 yards, and should be multiplied by how many hundred yards away your target is. Therefore, wit...

Re: 45 GR Hornady Bullets?

Valar, I hope I didn't offend you what I said in my previous post. I haven't done as much shooting as you have, and I don't doubt you have a great deal of experience. Just so I don't leave a misunderstanding, in my previous post, the only thing I was taking exception to was how you flatly contradict...

Re: 45 GR Hornady Bullets?

A 1:12 twist barrel will not stabilize a 45 grain bullet well in a 204. No insult, but did you even read the post above yours? You can make claims like that all you want, but that gentleman (walleyeman) has evidence to the contrary. One thing which you may be confused about, and which I only learne...

Re: Remington 700 VTR Review

I've had the opportunity to hold and dry-fire a Remington 700 VTR a few times at our local sporting goods store, and just as you say, it handles nicely and points easily. What scares me off is the fact that Remington started off with a short barrel (22") and then added a muzzle break. The break...

Re: Remington question

Hello again, WaltherP99, after reading the article you mentioned I can see what you mean about the stock. However, unless I’m badly mistaken, I would expect to be able to tweak hand-loads to a state of reasonable accuracy; and if not, it’s not so expensive a gun that I would mind putti...

Remington question

Hello there guys, Does anyone have any experience with the Remington 700 SPS Varmint, in .204 Ruger? I like the fact that it has a 26”(I like this part because long means faster :D ) heavy barrel, with a synthetic stock that won’t get all scarred up; I particularly like the comparativel...
