Group size question==need advoce

Hi I just got my CZ HS precision stock in .204 back from CZ due to what I thought were bad groups. What size of groups should I expect ? How good is good ? I can get one ragged hole groups with me Savage .223, and thought I could get at least similar with this. I got a factory target back with a ave...

Re: .223 vs. 22-250

I have both as well, and like my .223 better. Less recoil. My Savage .223 will shoot one ragged hole 5 shot groups. I just got back from SD shooting p dogs, and got some at 500 yards, a few a 400. It's a great gun and a bunch at 2-300.

Re: Bad .204 ruger groups STILL

Just came back from the range. I shot 15 factory Hornady 32 vmax. Mu first shot was dead center, second was 1/2 in low left, third 1/2 high right. Next two holes touching, third shot 1 1/4 high left. Third group similar with third shot 1/2 low right. Then I tried 27 gr h4895 with some Fed 205 primer...

Re: Bad .204 ruger groups

If the 32's don't work, I'll try a box of 40's.
I'm not dissin CZ. As I said, I had a Savage that needed a new barrel. I still really like them. If this one doesn't work, I'll send it back. " stuff happens "

Re: Bad .204 ruger groups

I'm going to try some 4895 after I try some factory loads. I got the h335 data form this site under loads and Hodgon power. People here seem to like Remmington 7 1/2 br ( I think ). I have those and will try them. I figure I should be able to get decent groups with factory loads. If they work, I'l t...

Re: Bad .204 ruger groups

Thanks
I had the same problem with a Savage .308 last year. Tried everything, talked to everyone. I finally sent is back. They returned it with a new barrel, and it shoots great. I hope I don't have to go through all that again. I wanted to take this pd hunting in a month.

Bad .204 ruger groups STILL

Hi I'm new here. I bought a CZ varmint with a HS Precision stock. I put a Leupold VXlll, loaded 32 gr vmax with 25 gr H335 ( if I remember right, I'm at work ) and got horrible groups. Out of a box of 50, I had 1 moa group. I was switching back and forth with my .223 and was shooting sub moa with th...
