Re: Seeing is believing
Lots of bad vibe on the Hornady brass on this site... justified, unfortunately. Mine was from factory loads, and the weight was all over the map, varying by 9gn, If I'm not mistaken. Primer pocets were so tight that I gave up on them. Perhaps their boxed brass is better  ?? 'But when I see stu...

+1 to what "204_au" said, three shot groups really don't show you the true accuracy of the load.

Re: weighing bullets
Nothing wrong with weighing bullets if you striving for the bug hole groups from the bench. I've also learned measuring the bullet from base to ogive contrubutes more to accuracy than minor weight variations. I've found length to ogive variations as high as .006" with older A-max bullets. The n...

Re: Midway USA DogTown 34 Grain Bullets
Yup, not bad for the money.... as my COAL they won't feed from the mag either.. but I do like them. My Savage is set up with a single shot follower so feeding is not an issue. I've used the Varmint Nightmare Extreme bullets and have had great success with them in my bolt actions and ARs. I'll give ...

Midway USA DogTown 34 Grain Bullets
I just ordered some 34 gr Dogtown's and was wondering if any forum members have experience with this bullet. Bottom line, did I waste my money on a cheap bullet or do they perform well?

Re: So Confused On Neck Sizing My 204 Round!
GaCop, how much shoulder bump are you trying to achieve when you full-length size each time? I was trying for no more than .002". I've since sold the AR (got tired of loosing prepped brass) and as soon as my barrel get here (26" varmint weight, 1 in 12 twist) from Northlander, I'll be con...

Re: rough barrel.....a problem ?
If it is a carbon ring, Slick 2000 is an excellent carbon cleaner using a good stiff nylon or bronze bore brush. If copper build up, Montana Extreme 50 BMG will usually remove the copper with the high percentage of ammonia it has. Break Free also has a bore paste that works well to remove both carbo...

Re: RCBS comp. Seating Die marks bullets
I get the ring too but have eliminated most of it by polishing with a bullet point felt bob and compound in a Dremel. Light rings disappear with polishing, after the bullet is seated, using a few turns of 4/0 steel wool.

Re: WTS: M1S 204Ruger SOLD
Sorry "bow shot", I had it advertised locally and it went within 24 hours. It's gone to another home. I traded it for an over/under 12 Ga Shotgun and a Savage 110 in 7mm mag. I'm waiting on a 204 barrel from Northland Shooter Supply and will be building a 204 bolt action.

A nice 4X12X40 would work well on that rifle. Love those Savages.

I'm waiting on a 204 barrel, 26" blued, from Jim Briggs at Northland Shooter Supply in Minnesota. I ordered my gauges from Brownell's yesterday and should have the barrel in the next week or so. I'm rebarreling a Savage that is currently a 223 Rem on a long action with single shot follower. I c...
