Re: How much is 0.1 inch worth in fps?
The Vortex Viper line of scope is crisp and clear. The price is reasonable AND their warranty is "NO BS". If something is wrong, they will fix or replace it no hassle.

Re: strange scale behaviour
Unless you get a lab quality scale, the accuracy of reloading scales is around 1/10th grain. A variable is built into it right from the start. My 10-10 is finickey to the point I have to turn off my ceiling fan and a de-humidifier or the beam will fluctuate. I've run into the same thing with a Dillo...

Re: So Confused On Neck Sizing My 204 Round!
Fire forming 223 Rem to 223AI always shortens a case from base to mouth but I've never experienced a shortening at the neck/shoulder junction because the case shoulder is expanded forward in the AI chamber.

Re: .225 Winchester
IIRC, only downside is the semi rimmed case. Better to size off the datum line of the shoulder after the brass is fireformed and it will last a long time.

Re: So Confused On Neck Sizing My 204 Round!
The only time I've run into cases shortening is when I fire form 223 Rem to 223 AI.

Re: Question regarding free bore
In desperation, I took a new case and cut two slits in the case neck to use as an oal gauge. It worked when I was loading for my AR,at least I knew the max to the lands OAL for each bullet I was loading.

Re: Midway USA DogTown 34 Grain Bullets
I have shot around 100dog towns and have a box of 500 on the bench. With the right load they shoot excellent, in the 3s in my ar 15! I have noticed a few more flyers but not bad. I will continue to use the for plinking and they re more than acurate enough for Coyote! So far my pet load is 40 grain ...

Re: How much is 0.1 inch worth in fps?
+1 to what "204_au" said, three shot groups really don't show you the true accuracy of the load. or inaccuracy of the load. Can't begin to recall how many good 3-shot groups until I went to 5 and then to 10 shot groups. Also, if the load shoots good @ 100 yards try it @ 200 and see if its...

Re: R C B S competition dies
I use the Forester Comp die set and a Lee collet die. The collet die gives me neck runout between .001"/.003" depending on brand of brass. My best results are with Winchester.

Re: N.I.B. Caldwell Fire Control Front Rest
I was wondering why you sold the Caldwell, are they not any good? I was considering getting one but now wonder if I might be making a mistake.

Re: Question regarding free bore
Hey all. Haven't been here in ages. I have a question. I have an R700 varmint. I was handloading and not getting good results. I have to use un-leaded only. I got advice here and from Redding that copper bullets like to jump to the lands and Redding recommended going to the minimum suggested load a...

Re: Midway USA DogTown 34 Grain Bullets
Just checked UPS and the Dogtowns are "out for delivery". Looks like I'll be working up loads just as soon as my new barrel gets here from Northlander in a week or so. I've been checking around for more brass and it seems like all my usual haunts are showing out of stock on 204R and 6.5 La...

Re: A question from a newbie
I use the Lee collet die for both 223 and 223AI and my runout is less than .002". I'm waiting for a 204 collet die to arrive in the near future.

Re: loading for accuracy
Eastern Diamondback skins make great belts, hat bands and slings too. The Eastern is the largest of the diamond back variety and can go from 5 to 8 feet here in Georgia. Luckily, you don't see that many in Central Georgia.
