There was a member over on the Savage Shooter Forum that was looking for an Accustock. I'd post a heads up over there.

+1!Joe O wrote:+1 on mounting the Nikon, mainly because it will mount much lower, giving you a good cheek weld on the stock, and it's more than enough power for any type hunting suitable for that caliber.Set on 6X you still get a 7mm exit pupil, which gives you all the light gathering, your eye can use.Have fun.

Standard deviation is where you can't pass a gun shop without entering and fondling the new rifles. It is treatable with daily injections of Hoppies #9.

Re: Nosler .204 Brass IDENTICAL to Norma .204 Brass?
I believe that Norma makes the 204 Ruger Brass for Nosler. I have some and its good brass, however if you are on a budget I would consider the Winchester 204 Brass. For the money Winchester is good brass and only needs a few prep steps and its ready to go. The average person using a factory chamber...

Re: holding a group at range
You have to size those necks! Some may not agree with me from a safety standpoint, I would pull the de-capping pin and re-size them with the live primers in place. Front and rear rests? You need that rifle as stable as you can get it. You are testing the load and firearm, not your ability to hold i...

Re: Trip down memory lane...........
I started my law enforcement career in Jan 86 after retiring from the Air Force. Revolvers were still the norm and I started with a Smith Model 28. When the "L" fram came on the scene, I traded the "boat anchor for a 686. Our department only allowed the guys on the SWAT team to carry ...

Re: Grooves in Brass
GaCop, absolutely the Dillon is the best. Anyone shooting lots of crimped brass should probably buy it. Those like myself, who don't shoot much crimped brass or the OP who apparently has a few 204 crimped cases wouldn't need to make that big an investment I don't think. Your so right. I load for a ...

Re: Grooves in Brass
I'm not sure if a pocket swaging tool would help straighten that out. It looks like the pockets are slightly off center when a primer is seated. I'd contact Federal. Tom Primer pockets seem pretty concentric - compared them against other shells and there's no bigger variation. Inside pocket diamete...

Re: To 'float' or 'not to float' barrel
Are you shooting three or five shot groups? How long are you waiting between shots. It sounds like your barrel has a pressure point that touches the barrel AFTER it heats up.chasespaugh wrote:Ruger m77 mkII .204 ultralight. Groups are stringing vertically to about 3".

Re: To 'float' or 'not to float' barrel
A lot of the thin "spaghetti" barrel, so popular these days, can stand to have some up pressure near the end of the forearm to improve accuracy. My standard weight sporter, varmint and bull barrels are fully floated.

The shop I work in charges $15. Most shops in the area charge around $25. No waiting period in Georgia.
