Re: 600 yard 6 Creedmoor Results

Re: weight differences in 32 gr. lead free bullets

If you have a chronograph,I would check velocity, some loads that shoot good at 100 yards may not at 300 or farther.Usually caused by velocity differences between each shell. It's the same thing I ran into with the last 1000 40 grain lead bullets i bought,.7 to .8 grain difference low to high. The low ...

Re: Question about age of my single 6?

Cool; that may make it worth more,I got 1 in 1968,1st revolver i ever bought,I think i traded it for High Standard 22 in the mid 70's.Not 1 of the smartest deals i ever made.Great revolvers, made to shoot for ever.I had both cylinders.Remember shooting Empty 1 lb propane bottle w/Marlin 39A rifle at...

Re: Precision tripod for varmints??

The real good tripods are very costly, may be cheaper to buy a rifle, give it to some one and pay them to shoot it  I've heard of a couple people had the Jim Shockey Trigger sticks tripod,i think they made Adapter to fit Sling Swivel Stud, being able to adjust height easy is a big plus. You might ...

Re: Acceptable Velocity Spread

With 27 gr of varget, you should be getting around 3550 fps. At 70 fps ES elevation will be about 1 inch difference at 400 yards. At 500 yards about 2 inches.70 fps ES is a little on high side.I get around 16-24 ES or less, and standard deviation usually in the single digits w/ Varget,W-748-,H322,H33...

Re: extreme range 600 to 1000 yds

Looked up data for 39 Blitz King at 1100 ft elevation, bullet energy is about 400 foot pounds at 550 yards.Someone shooting 20 VT,with 32 grain bullets at 3700 fps have around 400-408 ft pounds of energy at 300 yards,If they can wack a prairie dog at 300 yds,why would a bigger bullet not wack one w,4...

Re: Hornady 40 grain V-MAX

I think you missed my point, :? The post was about large weight difference of bullets. If you are trying to Shoot Tightest Groups your Rifle is Capeable of;you should Sort by OGIVE Length, and weight of bullet. Not Everyone sort their bullets.I merely pointed out if you Do NOT and you shoot 40 v-max; a...
