Beautiful coyote. Great photos. What kind of suppressor did you get? I'm considering that route too.

Sharptailhunter,
I have both the .243 and .243AI, you won't have any problem distinguishing the two from each other. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Re: What caliber other than .204 for vermin?

Sharptailhunter,
Have you ever considered putting a fast twist barrel on your .204? A 55 grain Berger in .204 would be very close to the .243 info that Rick just described except you'd have less recoil than the .243. :D

Re: Need to offer a tougher 40gr poly tip bullet

Have tried 40 Nosler and 40 Berger in my 12 twist 204. Bergers wouldn't group good enough. Nosler's shoot excellent and hold together much better than the Vmax and BlitzKing. Keep in mind if they're real close you may have problems with just about any centerfire bullet, depending on where they're hi...

LEUPOLD CUSTOMER SERVICE

6.6x20x40 LR Varmint Reticle. Out coyote hunting, about -10 degrees actual with -35 wind chil, wearing choppers and dropped my rifle on the road. The rifle landed right on the side focus knob and broke it off, couldn't believe the glass didn't break. Kept telling myself that the tears freezing on my...

Re: .204 Barrel twist

TOO, good to hear your comment. I see you're from ND, me too. It's good to hear the 1:11 worked in you Pac-Nor barrel also. It seems to me I've heard most if not all of the barrel makers allow +/- 1/2 inch on whatever ratio you are ordering. That's the only reason I was a little nervous about the 1:...

Re: .204 Barrel twist

Rick, I thought the results of that 600 yd. experiment were unusual too. Have no idea why the 40's stood up and the 39 did not. Anyway, good luck with the 40 Hornady/Nosler tests. Let us know what you find out. It does appear that the 1:11 cured the 39 SBK to 600 yards at least in your Pac-Nor 1:11....

Re: .204 Barrel twist

Rick, Thanks for the reply. I did see your post with your new custom. Beautiful gun. Have you grouped your 1:11 Pacnor barrel with the 39 SBK at 600 yards? The reason for my question is I wanted to try some F Class. In comparing 39 SBK, 40 Hornady, 40 Berger, and 40 Nosler, the 39 SBK groups the tig...

.204 Barrel twist

Hi to all, I'm new to the board, but have been reading and enjoying for quite awhile. Has anyone heard anything about the gun manufacturers offering the .204 in less that a 1:12 twist rate? Seems to me the bullet manufacturers are right on the money with the 39 to 50 grain offerings but the gun manu...
