Re: Reloader 10
The 204 has been described as a "tenth of a grain rifle". I found 1/2 grain increments too coarse when working up loads. Even .3 can be too coarse. Just my $.02... My own rifle likes 24.6 gr of RL10 and 39gr SBK's. Any thing under a 243 can be a 1 tenth gr cartridge, there is working up i...

35gr bergers
I just loaded up for the first time some 35gr Bergers with some Benchmark powder. I have only ever used Varget before in my 204's, one is a CZ walnut varmint and the newer piece is an HS Precision in a thumbhole varmint with the white colored stock. This HS is an amazing rifle for a factory rifle, h...

Re: CZ 527 Varmint target
That same stock profile is available in a 22 as well for about the same money. Harly any of the CZ folks over at RFC care for the new design. I really like the look of it compared to the original varmint kevlar piece. Dr.

Re: Where to start with my reloads
I have 2 204 Ruger chambered rifles, 1 in a CZ varmint and the other is a HS Precision. Plus I have shot and loaded for a few remingtons as well. In my CZ with the 39gr Blitzking and 28gr of Varget is magic and with the 40 Nosler and 27gr of Varget works great in the HS rifle. Varget may work well f...

Re: .204 rifle advice
I have the walnut stocked CZ varmint and I think it offers the best of both worlds as far as being a great shooter that isn't too heavy. Mine shoots great with 39gr blitzking with 28gr of Varget. Scope I have on it is the VXII 6-18. Only thing I need now is the sigle shot adapter from Calhoon. Dr P

Re: I'm not selling the .22-250... but, the .204R is my new
I had a beauty Sako 75 in 22-250 but after I got some hornets, a Calhoon and a pair of 204's I never shot it and had little desire to do so. I suppose if I lived in an area that had chuks or dogs I might have kept it. Dr.

Finding loads
I have heard from a number of gents here in Canada that finding a great shooting load for the 204 is some what difficult? I never had any trouble what so ever. First I have heard of this? Dr

Re: loads for 45-grain Hornadys
I know a fellow that is having excellent results with XBR powder with 40gr bullets, but we have not tried the heavier bullets yet. We will be when my Lilja 1-9 twist get chambered and barreled later this fall. DR.

Re: IMR 8208 initial impressions
I have yet to try this powder myself, but I can say that my varmint partner now feels that this powder is the best thing since sliced bread. This fellow has been loading for a great many years.FS

My HS Precision doesn't like the 32 gr bullets, loves 40gr Noslers. Dr. P

Re: Found a sweet new load today
Mater of fact, I did go higher. I did 28.5 and 29gr loads, the 29 was tighter than the 28.5, but the 28 was a small ragged hole, so that is the one I'm going to load for for this rifle. FS

Found a sweet new load today
was trying a variety of loads in my 527 CZ Varmint with out great results. Then I went to the 32gr Vmax with 28gr of Winchester 748 powder. Shot 3 great groups today at 100 meters with the best inside 1/2 inch. Now to load up a couple hundred. Dr P
