Re: Cold weather problem
No doubt it was in a sweet spot this summer when I was shooting anywhere from 60-80 degrees F. I first found the load using an Audette's Ladder with .1 gr increments shooting at 200 yards. No real pressure signs. I think the bottom line is that using the same gun, same exact load, and it worked then...

Cold weather problem
I just discovered that my newly developed 39 gr SBK load is leaving jagged holes in the paper and inaccurate groups. The weather when I shot was calm and about 15-20 degrees F. This summer I finally got the 39SBKs to work after working up some hot loads. I believe my 1:12 twist Remington was on the ...

Re: Old Style Buffalo Hunt!
On our way out to hunt turkeys in the Black Hills last spring, my Dad and I stopped at an old friend's place near Reliance, SD. The guy we visited is a biologist who used to work with my old man, but now works for the Lower Brule Sioux Reservation. They have buffalo hunts among other great hunts. Th...

Re: My latest Toy
Welcome to the forum, goatr . I live in Roseau, MN which is only about 3 hours from you to the southeast. This cold weather we've been having as of late should finally have the canines looking for food to please their raised metabolism. Are you getting any snow up there? This year we had a very brow...

Re: Finally solved my 12 twist stabilization problem!
My 39s and 40s keyholed at 100 and 200 yards. The first time I shot my 40 gr V-Maxs at 200 yards I had trouble keeping the key-holing bullets on an 8x11" piece of paper. I noticed with all of these loads that although the higher end of my pressure series still key-holed, they were more accurate...

Finally solved my 12 twist stabilization problem!
Hello all, I am so relieved to have finally figured out my Sierra 39 gr BlitzKing bullets. One of the reasons i bought the .204 Ruger was to take advantage of the good BCs of the smaller bullets for use on predators and just target shooting. When I started key-holing 39 and 40 grain bullets I was de...

Re: Ben's First 'Cat...then another...and another...and.... PA
Did you weigh your cats? If you did I'm curious to see how big those western cats are.
Also one more question: while hunting cats and dogs at the same time, do you howl at all? or is it just a distress call?
Again, congrats!

Beautiful! Your grass is a lot greener than mine is right now! Do you mostly use that rifle for rabbits and rodents? or do you have predators there as well?
